Obalski set for return to Public Possession
The ”long term shareholder” of the Munich operation will release a second EP, According to Obalski, later this month.
Of the various faces introduced through Public Possession’s in-house label in 2014, the unheralded Obalski landed at the most extreme and experimental end of their breakout year. His six-track 12″ Introducing Obalski paired up a penchant for amusing track titles (“Chevy Cheese”) with avant garde kosmiche experiments that tallied with his suggested background of art installations in the Munich locale. This year has seen the Public Possession name gain further traction with a highly-prized Edit Compilation backed by new records from close label affiliates Anton Klimt and Bell Towers and now details arrive of a second Obalski 12″.
Due out later this month, According to Obalski features just three tracks from the Munich man this time, though his propensity for strange sonics seems undimmed. A typically amusing Public Possession press releases suggests you should “lean back and meditate over a glass of Champagne – get sucked into Ambient landscapes only Obalski can deliver.” We are not sure if you have any Moet chilled and ready to pop but clips of all three tracks can be heard below.
Public Possession will release According to Obalski by Obalski on August 31.
