Jack J is Thirstin’ for Future Times
The Pender Street Stepper will release a two-track 12″ through DC’s finest next month.
‘Things will be better in Future Times.’ A fine entrance into the world of record label apparel this year for Future Times has been complemented by debuts for newcomer Mosey and Brazilian producer Japa Habilidoso whose Funk Do Sindicalismo 12″ is the epitome of unclassifiable. Now the DC label have revealed plans to further strengthen ties with Vancouver’s Mood Hut collective, seeking out Pender Street Stepper Jack Jutson (pictured above at Dublab) after issuing music from House of Doors and the Hashman Deejay.
Jack J was of course responsible for last year’s instant Mood Hut classic “Something (On My Mind)” and his upcoming Future Times debut picks up where that left off. Due out next month, lead track “Thirstin'” sees Jutson’s laidback vocal gliding over “the sparkling, spaced track”, whilst B-side “Atmosphère” looks to be an instrumental take which Future Times compare to a velvety Patrick Adams. A seven minute preview of both tracks below should fill you on the vibe.
Future Times will release Thirstin’/Atmosphère by Jack J in June.
