Kero & Kyle Hall are back with Two
The pair will release a second record together later this month through Kero’s own Detroit Underground label.
For its sheer mutant funk, a stand out production in both Sohail Azad (aka Kero) and Kyle Hall’s catalogues is B-side monster “K2 Attack!” from the duo’s Zug Island 12″. Released on Hall’s Wild Oats label in 2012, it provided the year with a white hot collaboration that until now was seemingly a one-off. In between other releases for BPitch Control and Semantica, Kero’s hooked up a handful of collaborations with various budding and established producers, namely the 2010 Function Kero EP with former Sandwell District head Dave Sumner for a release on Azad’s own Detroit Underground. News now surfaces Azad will brandish a second Kero & Kyle Hall 12″ entitled Two that’s due for a release on Detroit Underground in March.
As described by the label, Two is said to “reflect contemporary electronic music’s current fascination with outsider production, 1980s wave music, while still delivering a pulsing and relentless dance floor beat.” Detroit Underground also revealed Two will mark the beginning of a new collaboration between the label and high profile, Sheffield-based graphic studio The Designer’s Republic. Kero & Kyle Hall’s second 12″ provides Azad’s label with its third release of 2015 and at four tracks long the duo’s EP-length missive keeps in theme with the deformed acid, snappy snares and heavy synth action of their debut release.
Detroit Underground will release Two by Kero & Kyle Hall on March 14.
