Rhythmic Theory to inaugurate Ancient Monarchy series
The Bristol-based producer will feature on the first release of a new Berceuse Heroique offshoot – listen in full here.
It’s been a triumphant second year of upsetting the rhythm for Berceuse Heroique – as well as a clutch of highly sought-after 12″s and two excellent archival releases on the KEMAΛ sub-label, there have been several exercises in correct edit etiquette from Japan Blues, Duster Valentine, and Members Only. Those who follow the label’s official Facebook page will no doubt know Berceuse Heroique has also been planning a new sub-label called Ancient Monarchy, and today further details of the new imprint emerged.
According to Berceuse Heroique boss KEMAΛ, Ancient Monarchy “is a label for some raw UK shit”, with a stated aim “to return to the AWOL days but with a fresh attitude,” and it launches in January with the two-track Lucid State 12″ from Bristolian Rhythmic Theory, available to stream in full below. Further Ancient Monarchy output will retain a West Country focus with a second 12″ from Gramrcy planned replete with a Hodge remix – be on the lookout also for the store-only BH 0.5 due later this month, which promises to be something quite special.
Ancient Monarchy will launch in January with Lucid State by Rhythmic Theory.
