D’Marc Cantu set for Run Out Run debut

The prolific Ann Arbor artist will debut on Tom Dicicco’s label with the first of two planned releases in January. 

Though they naturally have quite distinct sounds, D’Marc Cantu is similar to The Exaltics producer Robert Witschakowski – they are both remarkably prolific but never seem to make the mistake of releasing records that simply sound like variants of the same music. After the recent announcement that Cantu would be appearing on the rebooted Drone label operated by Richard Fearless in January comes news of another bow for the Ann Arbor artist, this time on Run Out Run.

Founded by Tom Dicicco last year, Run Out Run has grown from a dedicated platform for the Northampton-based techno man’s own music to releasing productions from John Osborn & Tallmen. 785 and Killawatt. The addition of D’Marc Cantu adds to the sense of variety for Run Out Run, and the upcoming Car Type EP is apparently the first of two planned releases for the label. Available to preview below, the four tracks more than qualifiy the above statement regarding Cantu’s versatility as a producer, with the freewheeling filter house of “Spotlight” quite removed from the chaotic jak rave of the title track.
