10 Label experience Undulant Latitude
The third release for the enigmatic 10 Label comes as a split 12″ from co-founders Katsunori Sawa and Yuji Kondo – listen in full below.
Together Katsunori Sawa and Yuji Kondo form Steven Porter, a Japanese pair whose music falls into a similar realm of foreboding techno associated with the likes of Ancient Methods and Svreca to the Weevil Neighbourhood and Perc Trax. Together they run 10 Label and at two releases old they’ve successfully garnered the attention they deserve with a pair of distinguished various artist EPs featuring a unique cast of artist like French sound poet Anne-James Chaton and Mathew Herbert, to Dalhous, Perc and Ann Aimee’s Sawlin.
For the label’s third release, Undulant Latitude, the duo have supplied a track each under their own names which individually exhibits their respective production abilities while accentuating the separate characteristics of Steven Porter. Now a staple of the Weevil Neighbourhood label, Sawa delivers rigid and broken crunches in “Immortal Bind” which are washed in white noise and distressed strands of rock ‘n’ roll, while Kondo’s “Triangle Aggregates” delves back into the cavernous and Amazonian style of techno he first brutally released in 2012 as Ducerey Ada Nexino on cassette label Sludge Tapes. Both are available to stream in full below.
10 Label will release Undulant Latitude by Katsunori Sawa and Yuji Kondo later this month.
