The Exaltics to debut on Shipwrec
The forthcoming Twelve EP also features a remix from iconic Dutch group Unit Moebius Anonymous.
Regular readers of Juno Plus will be more than familiar with the work of Jena-based Robert Witschakowski, both for his output as The Exaltics and as head of Solar One Music alongside co-founder Nico Jagiella, both steering the label to a prominent place with the underground electro community. Since first surfacing under The Exaltics guise back in 2007, Witschakowski has graced a stellar cast of labels including Bunker, Crème Organization, Panzerkreuz, and Modal Analysis and this year has seen him arise on the Clone West Coast series for a tryptich of Some Other Place releases and remix Marcel ‘two tone’ Fengler for Ostgut Ton.
News now arrives that Witschakowski is set to add another Dutch operation to his collection in Shipwrec, a label that’s only been around a few years but has swiftly impressed with the calibre of artists they’ve worked with, the most recent example being the excellent Shape Shifting Shaman LP from DMX Krew. The addiiton of The Exaltics makes perfect sense then, and the upcoming Twelve EP is made all the more compelling by the presence of a rare remix from Den Haag overlords Unit Moebius Anonymous that the label describes as “suitably tough and teeth clenching”. Fans of Shipwrec will be well aware that the label pays added attention to the artwork and the Twelve EP features some particularly fine penmanship from Jaco Putker.
Shipwrec will release the Twelve EP by The Exaltics on July 7.
