Second release on Houndstooth for Second Storey
The artist formally known as Al Tourettes provides Houndstooth with a second release entitled Shaman Champagne.
Last year we reported on Alec Storey drawing a line through his coveted Al Tourettes alias with the introduction of his new pursuit Second Storey. Like fellow Houndstooth artist House Of Black Lanterns – formerly King Cannibal – Storey’s output under this name sees the Bristol producer fit right into place on Houndstooth who in 12 blustering months have proved to be eagle-eyed for signing fresh, genre-bending talent. Second Storey’s Shaman Champagne 12″ follows his debut Margosa Heights EP from last year and news of its release reveals that the production is a taster for Double Divide, Storey’s debut artist album pencilled in for release on Houndstooth this October.
Described as “vastly complex and intricately arranged,” the title track is said to be an adventurous club cut that shows off Storey’s bass roots and “psychedelically inspired musical abilities.” The single receives two remixes with the first coming from Perc, Ali Wells’ second for the year after reworking Furfriend’s Perc Trax debut, while for something directly in line with Storey’s music is a remix by Ultramajic’s Aden.
Houndstooth will release Second Storey’s Shaman Champagne 12″ on August 11.
