Italian pair Ninos Du Brasil to release album on Hospital Productions
Dominick Fernow’s label will release Novos Mistérios later this month.
Formed of Nicolò Fortuni and respected visual artist Nico Vascellari, Ninos Du Brasil are described as a “flamboyant Italian battery” that mix up techno and punk with “the febrile humidity and sensory overload of Brasilian carnival music”. Given this description, you’d be forgiven for thinking his news was a curveball for Hospital Productions – who have largely focused on the more crepuscular end of the noise and industrial spectrum over its fifteen years of releases – but Vascellari and Hospital Productions boss Dominick Fernow have developed something of a strong working relationship in recent times. The pair collaborated together on the Jesus LP issued on the Italian’s VON Editions label last year, having previously released a DVD that Fernow produced with Spanish director Carlos Casas in homage to the Vezdekhod tank.
Novos Mistérios is the second album from Ninos Du Brasil following the release of Muito N.D.B. through Verona label Tannen Records back in 2012, with a press release from Hospital Productions stating that the seven tracks form an acutely stripped down blend of mostly “live” recorded percussion and explorative electronic sound design. Interestingly Fortuni and Vascellari are also pencilled in to release a 12″ on DFA later this year.
Hospital Productions will release Novos Mistérios by Ninos Du Brasil on April 21.
