Mick Wills leaves his mark on Elec Pt.1

The Signals label is back – stream a killer remix by Wills from their forthcoming Elec Pt.1 release.

There have been zero vinyl broadcasts from the North since last year’s excellent Signals issue from the shadowy character known as Black Narcissus, but it seems like this time out of the spotlight has been spent putting plans into action. Grace the Signals Facebook page and there is all manner of enticing artwork related to forthcoming releases from DRVG CULTURE, the 2AMFM pairing of D’Marc Cantu and Tadd Mullinix, and Stefan Blomeier & Claire.

First on the horizon is the Signals debut of Bunker royalty Andreas Gehm under his Elec Pt.1 alias, with the Bod~x 12″ due out late next month packing a weighty remix from Baden-Württemberg’s finest Mick Wills. As Richard Brophy stated in a recent Separate Mind column, Wills is perhaps best known for the Technicolor collage of Italo, EBM and Chicago jack that makes up his DJ sets, but this soaring remix of “Acidmark” – described quite aptly by the label as driving at “200kph up the Bundesautobahn 2 with the headlights off” – should not be underestimated.
