Stream Legowelt’s “Teen Romance”
Take in the title track from Danny Wolfers’ soon to arrive return to L.I.E.S.
Back in 2011, Legowelt’s Sark Island Acid was one of those early L.I.E.S. releases that caught our attention at Juno Plus, particularly the speaker rattling title track. The rest they say is history, with the 12″ now highly prized on Discogs. Having subsequently featured on Ron Morelli’s label as part of Trackman Lafonte & Bonquiqui as well as adding some Lowlands presence to the American Noise compilation, Danny Wolfers is set for a return to L.I.E.S. in EP form with the upcoming Teen Romance 12″.
Continuing Morelli’s approach of releasing music regardless of whether it’s brand new or been sat in the archives for some time, Legowelt obsessives will no doubt recognise “Teen Romance” from the unreleased tracks section of his wonderfully out of date looking website. Regardless of its vintage, the track – available to stream below – highlights everything we love about Legowelt; spectral melodies, snapping drum machine rhythms and gurgling analogue basslines all sunk in thick-set tape dust. Due out next week, the three track 12″ comes replete with the above cover-art from Will Bankhead.
