Celebrate synthesizers with The Celebrate Music Synthesizer Group
Stream a track from the forthcoming self-titled debut LP from the “spice-hunting collective” known as The Celebrate Music Synthesizer Group.
As you’d expect when individuals such as Boredoms drummer Butchy Fuego, M. Geddes Gengras and Sun Araw’s Cameron Stallones are gifted the freedom of a world class synthesizer studio, things get a bit haywire. Together with film maker Tony Lowe, the trio descended on Rotterdam’s highly respected cultural hub The Worm last summer after such an invitation, and the results of their straight to two-track tape recording will be heard on a forthcoming nine-track double LP due out on Drag City later this month. As LP primers go, “Warung Mini” from The Celebrate Music Synthesizer Group sets the tone perfectly, unfurling layer upon layer of bleep-laden dissonant electronics and Moog noodling over a hollowed out krautrock beat across ten wonderful minutes.
