Listen to Mike Dehnert’s new MD2 release
The Berlin producer’s funky techno guise reaches its sixth record.
Fachwerk label boss Mike Dehnert has one of the most recognisable sounds in techno, fusing heavily processed 909 drum tracks with elements of dub and murky vocal snippets. Released on his self-sufficient MD2 imprint, Dehnert created the alias in 2010 as an outlet for a funkier and more melodic take on his Berlin club-centred sound. Dehnert continues this tradition with MD2.6, a four track EP which sees the Berliner supply two distinctly lighter, Italo-tinted tracks – “MD2.6.2” in particular verges on oriental new age – while the others see Dehnert at his techno best. Listen to samples of the EP below.
