Sun God release due on Sequencias

Jamal Moss will return to the Sequencias label for a forthcoming release under the Sun God banner.

Of all the Mathematics boss’s aliases, the Sun God project seems a creative outlet for his most discordant, psychedelic creations, and is one that was dormant for several years after releasing numerous 12″s on Jack FM, Eargasmic and Frantik Flowers between 2004-09. Moss returned to the Sun Ra riffing project in devastating style last year with the Being Hieroglyphic EP for Paul Du Lac’s consistently interesting Bio Rhythm label, which featured three remastered tracks from the Music For Mathematics CDr series and sounded like Ron Hardy brought back to life after a deal with the devil.

That’s a good frame of mind to approach The Spirits Have Spoken, the forthcoming Sun God 12″ which sees Moss return to the Sequencias label run by JM De Frias, after contributing to the Elusive Triumph EP along with Specter and Aroy Dee in 2011. The two tracks are quite rightly described by Sequencias as “Moss at his most avant-garde”; the trademark glistening synth lead of “Spoken By The Spirit” is Jamal Moss at his most hypnotic whilst “4 This Is Your Salvation” is as hellish as the producer’s stunning Morphine Records release The Lost Transmission.

Both tracks are available to stream ahead of its imminent release, and we’ve also received news that Jamal Moss will be returning to Bio Rhythm with yet more Sun God material in the near future with The Nine Billion Names Of God EP. London readers are advised to attend this weekend’s BleeD event with Hieroglyphic Being and Holly Herndon at Basing House – details on that here.
