Soak up the Houz business of the first R-Zone release
Get a grip on how R-Zone, the new label from Global Darkness, is planning to counteract homogeneity with the first release due out next month.
First disclosed in a recent feature with Crème Organization boss DJ TLR, R-Zone aims to release music from well known producers working anonymously with the intent of shifting the focus “away from namedropping and perception based on hype around individual artists” and bringing it back “where it belongs; in the lap of the music.” Resident Advisor yesterday reported that high profile acts such as Tuff City Kids, Willie Burns, JD Twitch and D’Marc Cantu were amongst those already signed up for the series, whilst TLR himself disclosed a few other interesting names to us.
By the sub 100bpm rave sounds of this debut release R-Zone should certainly live up to TLR’s stated intention of the label sounding wholly different to the established Crème sound.
