Blackest Ever Black announce Prurient LP, Through The Window
Dominick Fernow’s prolific output continues apace with the news he will release a Prurient album entitled Through The Window on Blackest Ever Black early next year.
Through The Window is formed of three tracks that apparently originated in the sessions Fernow recorded for last year’s Prurient album Bermuda Drain and the more recent Times Arrow 12″, and comes at a time when the producer’s focus has largely been on increasing the profile (and discography) of his Vatican Shadow alias, with countless releases and reissues across Modern Love, Bed Of Nails, Hospital Productions and Type surfacing over the course of 2012.
The forthcoming LP follows Blackest Ever Black releasing some Vatican Shadow material in the shape of Iraqi Praetorian Guard, a 12″ pressing of two tracks culled from the debut Vatican Shadow cassette release and backed with a Regis remix, and marks another step in the working relationship between label and artist following a memorably unhinged Vatican Shadow performance during the recent Blackest Ever Black label showcase at London’s Corsica Studios.
A press release for the album describes the 20 minute long title track as the “ultimate expression not only of Fernow’s affection for European techno forms, but also his ability to apply them to his own uniquely lacerating purpose” and if that doesn’t paint a vivid enough picture of what to expect, you can hear a brief preview of all three tracks below.
Blackest Ever Black will release Through The Window by Prurient across all the regular formats in February 2013.
