Livity Sound unveil sub label

Just four releases deep and Livity Sound has expanded operations with the launch of a sub label cunningly named dnouS ytiviL.

The Livity Sound imprint has swiftly attained a buy on sight reputation thanks to the high standards of its releases from the three Bristol lynchpins that run it – Punch Drunk boss Peverelist, the prolific Kowton and Project Squared regular Asusu. The newly established offshoot has been founded to “release music that is in line with the Livity aesthetic but isn’t produced by the trinity behind it”.

Thus the inaugural release on dnouS ytiviL comes courtesy of Alex Coulton, a Manchester based producer with links to Bristol’s ever bustling music scene via a quite excellent Idle Hands 12″, who also delivered the debut release for Glasgow label ALL CAPS. Set to surface in record shops this week, Coulton’s “Bounce” is a ripe slice of broken techno with a sly nod to Skull Disco percussion and comes backed with a pressurised remix from the man Pev himself. You can stream the original below to get a grip of what to expect when the 12″ drops later this week. (via Tape Echo)
