23 Skidoo headline Metal Dance launch party

Iconic 80s post-punk outfit 23 Skidoo will headline the London launch party for Trevor Jackson’s excellent Metal Dance compilation.

The UK band’s insouciant 1982 track “Vegas El Bandito” appears on the compilation alongside material from the likes of  Nitzer Ebb, Jah Wobble, Cabaret Voltaire and Severed Heads. Jackson will DJ at the event, as will Cosey promoter Richard Clouston. Considering the quality that courses through the Metal Dance tracklisting (more on that here), it’s entirely reasonable to expect an evening of classic and obscure industrial, post-punk and EBM oddities.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 24, at London venue Electrowerkz. Tickets are £10 and you can buy them here.

Strut Records will release Metal Dance across 2 x CD, gatefold double vinyl and digital formats on February 20, 2012.
