Listen: Call Super covers “Gabrielle”
We have a bit of an exclusive for you in the shape of this rather fine reimagining of the Roy Davis Jnr and Peven Everett late 90’s house classic “Gabrielle” from Call Super.
You may recall the Berlin based artist – also known as JR Seaton – put out a rather fine EP on fledgling London imprint Five Easy Pieces earlier this year, those that don’t can read our review here.
His remix of “Gabrielle” wisely changes up the entire mood of the track, presenting it as a exercise in soul tinged analogue beatdown, retaining only shards of Everett’s vocals and the pensive chords.
