MOTU unveil MachFive 3.0 Universal Sampler
MOTU have completely rebuilt the Mach Five Universal Sampler, redesigning the user interface and adding an extensive 45 GB sound library, seven signature instruments based on new scripting technology and a new hybrid synthesis engine.
The Mach Five 3 features instruments, loops, phrases, synthesis and FX in one screen. It boasts multi-sample instruments which opens up many possibilities for programmers and sound designers alike. Offering unlimited polyphony with low software latency, there are eleven sound engines and flexible modulation matrix.
Other highlights include flexible effects architecture over 47 different effects with graphic mixer boasting faders, FX inserts, and unlimited channels (submix to 17 stereo output pairs). There’s also time-stretching, pitch-shifting and granular synthesis.
The Mach Five reads all major third party hardware/software sample formats and is available for Mac (Mac OS X version 10.5, 10.6, or 10.7 – v10.5.8 or later is required) and PC (Windows 7 or Vista – SP2 or later is required) with 65 bit operation on both platforms.
Keep an eye on Juno for the stock arrival, with prices listed at £317 for the boxed version. Registered users can upgrade for £115. An upgrade program allows users of other sample software to switch to MachFive 3 for £187 (proof of ownership is required).
