M-Audio unveil new studio gear
M-Audio this week announced the impending release of a new keyboard – the Keystation Mini – and two types of studio monitors, the BX8 D2 and BX5 D2.
The Keystation Mini (pictured above) is 32 key USB MIDI keyboard with sensitivity controls plus four assignable controls and a nice big knob for DAW or live-set parameter modulation. It is iPad compatible, has a contemporary beveled design and will hit the stores in September, priced at £54.99.
The BX8 D2 and BX5 D2 (below) are rear – firing active studio monitors, based on M Audio’s premium range featuring 8″ and 5″ woofers kicking out 130W and 70W of distributed power respectively. The drivers are of the Kevlar low-frequency type with waveguide silk-dome tweeters. Keep your eye on Juno for the release date, with pricing at £379 for the 8’s and £215 for the 5’s.
