Stockholm based music software stalwarts Propellerhead today announced the sixth incarnation of their world renowned Reason Series, due for release in September 2011.

Reason 6 incorporates the previously standalone Record software for audio recording with greater mixing capabilities plus the advent of three new effects namely Pulveriser, Echo and Alligator. The amusingly titled Pulveriser combines crunchy compression, dirty distortion, a multimode filter and flexible modulation in a single effect.  The Echo is an advanced stereo echo harnessing the power of modern delays and analog tape machines, whilst the Alligator is a three channel pattern-based gate effect. The Roland Neptune vocal processor is also available with this version.

This feature heavy pro version of Reason 6 will retail at £349.

Also available is the lighter Reason Essentials which strips back some of the professional end features keeping the price at a more affordable £229.
