Joakim is Forever Young
Tigersushi boss Joakim will release a new single entitled Forever Young this month, which will precede the eagerly awaited fourth album from the French producer.
Potentially indicative of how the as yet untitled album will sound, the melancholic joy that runs through “Forever Young” musically is underpinned by a dark lyrical tone that’s natural for a paean to that “weird middle place between youth and middle age”.
In addition, the release will be a fully Gallic affair as both Tigersushi artist DyE and the ever excellent Discodeine have been enlisted to provide remixes. Joakim seems suitably happy with the results, as he explains: “Discodeine’s take is a real grower and works amazingly in the club with its tropical synths. DyE’s version emphasizes the pop side of “Forever Young” and turns the track into an epic house tune.”
The news of his fourth album is just the latest reason to pay attention to Tigersushi in 2011, as the Parisian label has already released an album from Nakion and a debut EP from Brazilian producer Yes Wizard (replete with a stunning Duke Dumont remix) with an EP from the mysterious Crackboy and a debut album from DyE also on the horizon.
Tigersushi will release Forever Young by Joakim on June 27.
