T Bar goes out with a clap

Soul Clap (pictured) will headline the farewell party for treasured London venue T Bar, which abruptly closed down last month.

The Boston duo, famed for their housey R&B edits, will be joined by two prodigious talents in the shape of Nicolas Jaar (who we recently interviewed for Juno Plus) and Eglo man Floating Points. It promises to be a fitting farewell for a club that became an integral part of the London nightscape during its six years in operation.

Last month Juno Plus reported that the venue has closed its doors for good after struggling to adjust to life at its new home at Houndsditch. The T Bar became one of East London’s most prominent venues for house and techno in its original home in the Tea Building on the corner of Shoreditch High St and Bethnal Green Rd, with DJs such as Ivan Smagghe, Sir Andrew Weatherall and Michael Mayer playing regularly.

The event will be held at the Scrutton St Warehouse on July 24 . Full details and tickets are available from Resident Advisor.
