Techno legends announced for Melt
Germany’s Melt festival – always a must-visit for lovers of music with an electronic tinge – has announced the first names to play at the 2010 event.
Carl Craig (pictured), Ricardo Villalobos, Massive Attack, Booka Shade and Modeselektor have all been cofirmed, with Craig set to team up with Underground Resistance man Mike Banks in a show that will have old school techno heads foaming at the mouth.
Ostgut Ton – the label behind Berlin’s infamous Berghain and Panoramabar club – is bringing the sound of the power station-turned-temple of techno, with resident DJs Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Norman Nodge, Tama Sumo, DJ Pete, ND Baumecker, Boris, Nick Höppner, Prosumer, Steffi, Marcel Fengler and Shed (live) all appearing at the festival.
Industrial techno aside, UK indie fans are also catered for, with the xx, Folas, Wombats and Two Door Cinema Club all announced.
