Modular goes back in time
Forward-thinking Aussie label Modular have taken a step backwards – to explore some of the bands that helped shape the musical landscape Down Under in the 70s and 80s.
The Circa 1979: Signal to Noise series celebrates the Australian post-punk, avant garde and early experimental music scene from 1979-1985.
The first issue is curated by Australian electronic pioneers, Severed Heads. There track “Bless this House” is a DJ Harvey favourite and KZA and Joakim have recently released edits of “Dead Eyes Opened”.
It’s well worth a read, and you can check it out here.
