Technics live to fight another day

Panic over people! After more than a week of frenzied internet hype, Panasonic have released an official statement confirming that production of the legendary Technics turntables will continue.

Reports emerging from a number of dance websites recently suggested the production would cease in 2010, prompting mass speculation and panic on internet forums.

The matter was complicated further when a spokesman for Panasonic told Australian site In The Mix that “due to low sales globally in analogue turntables a decision to stop production has been made on Technics Turntables”. This statement was later retracted.

So – after all that – crisis averted.
