Emerging dubstep producer Jérôme Meyer is one elusive character. Despite having already released three 12″s under the Von D moniker this year, you’d be hard-pressed to find much of anything written about him.

Regardless, his Nouvelle Histoire release is the most easily digested and immaculate take on chilled-out ambience.

“Nouvelle Histoire” opens with a cascade of cymbals which seep almost completely into a series of lively, melodic pads and syrupy vocals.

“Berlin Call” follows through with a more forceful, constant baseline dominating the inscrutable loops of vocal wails and near-uptempo breakbeat vibe. It’s impossibly polished and clever.
