Review: In celebration of their tenth birthday, Selador marks the occasion in style with a four-track collaborative EP, featuring tracks from 3D, Robert Owens, Olivier Giacomotto, Quivver, Dave Seaman, Hernan Cattaneo, Argia, and Jepe. The opening track, 'Known Love', is a deep, pulasting house tune that feels like an instant classic, perhaps thanks to the soulful, pop-tinged vocals - think LCD soundsystem meets Four Tet. 'Snailblazer', the second track on the EP, takes a much darker turn, with a chugging, EBM-esque feel. Full-bodied and complete with obscured vocals, this is the kind of track to pull out your bag when it's time to really get stuck in. On the B-side, 'Napkin Knowledge' draws on the glistening synths of eurodance, yet still securing the melodies to a grounded bassline and rhythm section. 'Salitre' is the perfect closing track, rising up in a gleaming, ecstatic melody, before delicately returning to ground level. Review: Age of Rage aka the studio powerhouse pairing that is Dubbyman and Dan Piu is back on Sole Aspect with a third outing. The title of this one, Credo, is from the Latin word for a "firm set of beliefs and principles." It finds the duo serving up deeply soulful spirits and romantic atmospheres with dusty house beats as the vehicle. 'Open to Close' is balmy and gentle, with the dub even more warm for you to sink into. 'Fake Action' brings shuffling grooves and lush cosmic designs and 'Lover' is a smoochy closer that echoes Sade. Lovely stuff as always from this accomplished partnership.

'Silence After The Storm' is the gorgeously serene closer. Classy stuff for sure.

Boss Priester's 'Let The Kids Play' is a nice loopy opener with smooth drums and cool synths that have hints of cosmic magic. Jesse Jacob gets more unsigned with the surging 90s bassline and groggy chords of 'Time To Undust This Machine' then Garouda's' 'All The People' has a bit of a garage shuffle as it hurries on through the stars. Distilled Noise' 'Agape' does some freaky things with filtered vocals and skittish percussion.

Review: Synkronized is just three releases deep now but is already an assured and reliable outlet for fresh house sounds. This latest offering takes the form of a various artists EP and opens with the brilliantly spaced out electronic house of'Lorenzo Chiabotti & Just_Me's 'Darko FM'. It's a silky one with balmy pads that encourage you to dive right in. Martin M's 'Pleasure Minds' then strips things backed to a nice and empty but rolling groove and on the flip Chad Andrew & Imbue get crunchy with their broken beats. That leaves just Den Haas with his mellifluous and pillow deep house cosmic delight, 'The Spot.'

Their Moody mix then breaks up the beast a little into tumbling affairs that are perfect for summer festival deployment. On the flip is the heart-wrenching dance pop nugget that is the original of 'Queen Of Ice' (feat Dizzy) before the best of the lot - a nice and breezy 7" mix that is clean and catchy.

Review: After having two of his earlier tunes remodelled by Carl Craig and Mike Huckaby thanks to Sushitech, Detroit's Delano Smith re-emerges on the label with a double pack of tunes made with Brawther under the D&B Productions. That moniker has more to do with the pair's name rather than a suddenly conversion to drum & bass, although there's a love of dubby effects and deep bass power here that - at a stretch - could be said to be in common. The six tracks - Symbiosis' 1-6 - are smooth and simple, but executed with an ear (or four) for an irresistible groove, an economic but rhythmic keyboard stab and a knack for squeezing something nicely soulful from the barest ingredients. Nice work indeed.

Review: We're Going Deep is run by Placid aka Paul Wise and it has roots that go back many, many years. The music it puts out remains at the very cutting edge though as this new one proves. It comes from D5, UK underground favourites, and here they offer up a trio of super stylish cuts of deep and sleek techno. 'RedAnalysis' is a bumping one with nice prickly percussion and trippy melodies, then 'BlackAnalysis' gets more soulful and smears Detroit synths over tightly bobbling kick drums. 'Noanalysis' closes out somewhere between the two with warm atmosphere and cool groove to spare.

Review: The Master Jams label has been active for five years now, but this is only its fourth release. And mores the pity to be honest because they always serve real deal house music direct from the source in the United States. They don't come much more revered than Chez Damier, the former Prescription man turned Balance label boss. His house sound is deep, soulful, perfect. The four cuts here show that with vocal stunner 'Your Love' melting your heart, the DJ Aly dub making things more club ready then a Stephan Hoellermann remix and Ron Trent & Chez remix closing out the flip with two lovely house jams.

Review: There's very little collaborative work by Chez Damier and Ron Trent, especially the cuts they made during the days of Prescription Records, that isn't timeless and top-drawer. You could certainly say that about the four tracks that make up 1994's now reissued Hip To Be Disillusioned Volume 1. The untitled opener is loopy, deep and hypnotic in their trademark early morning style, while the track that follows - a version of Primitive Arts LP cut 'Sometimes I Feel Like' - is a little warmer and more positive in tone but no less chunky and locked-in. The flipside opens with a rolling, early morning loop jam (think deep, chunky bass, delay-laden synth stabs and crunchy drums), while the closing cut is a wickedly stripped back version of previous single 'I Feel The Rhythm'.

Review: Dan Piu strikes a perfect balance between late-night dance floor darkness and hope-filled light on this stylish EP from Sakskobing. The Switzerland-based studio wizard has dug into his vaults for the material, which was recorded between 1995 and now. The opener 'Selfish War Machine' is a beautiful trip on deep bass and serene synth work that calls to mind the best of Detroit. There is intergalactic broken beat techno warfare on 'Made In Japan' and salacious Moodymann-esque house loops on 'Dark Side Of Me 1995.' His range here is impressive with 'Robota' offering tough electro and 'Equinox Of Ceres' a bliss bout ambient house finale.

Review: Super janky and watery minimal from Chile's Ruta 5 label, helmed and regularly released-on by local mainstay Dandy Jack. Of course, Ricardo occupies a remix spot: who else? 'The Gay From Ipanema' is the minimal originals lover's choice, channelling a straight, Herbertized palette of found metallic sound. Review: It's still hard to keep up with all of Burnski's many different labels, but we're not complaining. This one, Constant Black, mixes up things with a tech and minimal twist and next to do so is Daniel Akbar. 'What' soon wins you over with its kinetic and infectious drum programming and smart samples - a phased vocal and a twisted synth lead. 'Retreat' gets more physical - the drums bang with an old-school flavour and hint of tribalism. 'Listen' is a big fat tech roller with low slung bass and 'This One' rounds out with some brilliant drum, hits and brain-frying bass sounds. Pow pow, what a record.

Review: Jamie 3:26's label welcomes Danou P, a fast-rising Rotterdam artist he has been mentoring for some while. And the new school talent doesn't disappoint with a selection of truly deep house sounds in a couple of different styles. The first is all bottomless depths, dreamy moods and escapist pads that are unhurried and mediative. The second, 'Jazzy Dummy' (feat Kems Kriol), is more party starting with its playful distant sax sounds, lively vocals and leggy drums, then the third, 'So Fruit,' is heavy, hard-hitting deep house with superb flute leads that echo the great St Germain track 'So Flute'.

Review: Landing on a hand-stamped, blue marble and limited edition 12" are four more deep and dubbed out house tunes from the latest instalment of Mireia's We'll Sea series. Das Komplex kicks off with a serious aqueous rhythm drenched in waves of synth with a pained vocal sample that really makes it stick in your mind. Tecwaa knocks it back even further to a slow motion underwater dub current that gently moves you to a state of bliss. 'Nebula' from Achim Maerz is more upright and upbeat, with bright chords shining through the vast groove caverns as neat chords dance up top. 'Sky Waves' closes out in warm, rough edged lo-fi deep house fashion.

Review: Shall Not Fade has proven over the last five plus years that whatever sounds it turns its hand to it does with style. Mostly that is deep house and garage but here we have some warehouse-ready techno from Dasco. 'Powerful Woman' has mid-tempo drums that are run through with a supple and subtle acid line and repeated vocal phrasings that lock you into the trip. 'Acid Queen' jacks a bit more, with raw analogue drums and vintage cow bell sounds before the 303 takes over, then Johannes Volk really bangs the box with his hardcore house remix, full of splintered kicks and dusty hi hats. Chicago Skyway brings plenty of Windy City texture to his version.

Review: DATA17 is back with more of that irresistible hand-stamped white label minimal and tech house goodness. 'Pour Toi' kick off this particular party with high speed tech funk loops and crashing hits that demand you dance while wonky synth lines unfold up top. The clipped and kinetic funk continues on 'C La Vie' which has distant playground found sounds and balmy pads and 'Sous Influence' that slips down into superbly icy and economical minimal grooves, with nagging leads hooking you in as the militant drums march below. It's an eerie and futuristic sounds completed with some spoken words from Blade Runner.

This new EP from Davi falls into that category as it explores dark, heads-down house and tech for the dead of night. 'Nosferatu' is heavy with the same sense of doom that you might be filled with should you meet the vampire from which the track takes its name. 'Mirage' is awash with pixelated cosmic melodies that light up the skies above a rolling house beat. With this EP Davi makes another good impression.

Review: Daniel David (FKA Trailer Limon) makes a great impression on Bastard Jazz with his first solo record. This 7" finds him link with the Jazz Mafia for a feature after he has done plenty of work with the legendary San Francisco duo the Pendletons. Because of that he is credited with helping to kickstart the Bay Area's modern funk resurgence but here he shows he has plenty of his own skills too. 'Tambor De Cura' (with Guinu) is bustling jazz that is vibrant and vivacious with big horns, steamy jungle atmospheres, humid pads, bird calls and many other great details that form a hefty groove. 'Devotion' is then a funky jazz fusion with cosmic pads and lush vocals.

Review: Omar S treats us to a second release in the space of a week, with a much deserved reissue of some 1996 Roy Davis Jnr rawness across the A Side. The Stevie Wonder classic "All I Do" gets chopped up, laid over a killer Chi town beat filled with instantly gratifying raw drum edits and augmented by some evil bass thumps. Relentlessly brilliant and sounds just as fresh some 14 years on. Echoing a current trend this side plays outwards from the inside groove. On the flip Omar S teams up with DJ B Len D for the bongo heavy deep groove of "Da Teys" a track that's characterised by melodic keys which increase with curveball drama as the track progresses.

Review: Once in a while a perfect record comes along that ticks all the boxes - authentic flavours, rich soul vibes, sweet vocals, deep drums. This Glenn Davies outing on F*CLR Music is just that. 'Special' is perfectly titled and channels the likes of Glenn Underground and Alton Miller through loose but driving grooves, genuinely emotive vocals and subtle chord work. The North Street West vocal remix is more playful and soulful as the production is stripped back somewhat, and the instrumental goes the other way, making more of the drums and chords and their lively interactions.

Review: Glenn Davis is well known and loved by fans of deep, vibey house music. He has served it up on F*CLR MUsic as well as Deeper Groove before now, and that is where reruns for this new EP. 'Make It Happen' is a vibrant track with crowd noises, heartwarming chords and nice smooth grooves all sure to get people on the floor. 'Hold Tight' then sinks in a little deeper, with balmy pads and wet finger clicks all warming the cockles. Review: After establishing his name with a pair of rock-solid EPs on F*CLR Music, Glenn Davis established Deeper Groove Recordings as an outlet for his sparkling, melody-rich club workouts. A Place For You, his third outing on the imprint, is undeniably gorgeous - especially the EP-opening title track, where colurful synth riffs, sustained synth-strings and sun-splashed chords leap above a tactile deep house groove. The positivity, warmth and sonic colour continues on the chunkier and groovier 'Take Me To The Club', which is given a more thickset, classic U.S deep house-sounding rework by veteran deep house don Franck Roger. Davis' productions are bright, melodic creations with rock solid grooves and strong hooks for all kinds of good times, with B2 track "Floating" standing out with its strafing acid line punching out into a decidedly ethereal soundscape.

Review: You really can't fault the Houseworx label - it knows how to dig out classy house sounds from a range of subgenres that will always work on the floor. It's Dawn Again who pulls off that deceptively difficult trick here with a fresh four-tracker. 'If You're Waiting For Someone To Save The Day' is a mid-tempo mover with a yearning vocal that is enough to set the whole thing alight. 'Schmang'd' has more of a garage skip to it with crispy hits and low-slung bass, then 'Endless Canopy' explores a more heady vibe with warm Balearic chords. Review: Australian producer Daze has dropped plenty of heat as far back as 2014 for labels like Lobster Theremin, Unknown To The Unknown and Valcrond Video, but it's been a few years since we heard anything new. Now they've cropped up with their own label and a simple intention on the Rave Daze 001 release, offering two excellent cuts that bring some classic old-skool touches into a sleek, modern deep house format. There's no doubt you'll spot the iconic vocal on the A side track, while there's a certain comforting familiarity to the flip as well, ensuring this will go down very smooth with any dancer you care to play this to.

Review: Brussel's talent DC Salas returns to Robert Johnson for a third outing that continues in his tradition of mixing up all manner of wave and acid sounds with steely beat work. 'Voces' kicks off with a strobe-lit vibe and crunchy drums full of emo attitude. 'The Lights' is another one for the heart of the dance floor with its rigid bass and stiff drums run through with flashy synths. 'Metallic Glow' layers up twisted metal and plenty of crunch into another mechanical and electroclash adjacent rhythm that will wreak havoc on the dance floor. Last of all is the deeper, more trippy 'Safe Pace' with its guying synths and screwy acid.

Review: Venetian self-described "avant garde conservative" Simone De Kunovich is back to quickly follow up his last outing in March with a new electro EP on Public Possession. He also ended last year on a high with the final part of his Mondo Nuovo series and seems to be in full creative flow again here. 'Flow My Tears' is an old school throwback with sugary 80s synths sounds and lush cosmic arps, then 'Super Mana Drain' local into a chugging Italo disco vibe that will get hands in the air as it travels to the stars. 'Warp World' is a more heavy thumper but still one defined by its bright and colourful synth work.

Review: In the 27 years since Delicious Inc's 'Eau De Chante' first slipped out on Underground Music Movement (U.M.M), the E.P has become an in-demand item amongst house DJs. This latest reissue, then, is very welcome. Stripped-back, bumpin' and bass-heavy, it sits somewhere between the masculine funk of Murk, the muscular thump of Sound Factory-era Junior Vasquez, and the rolling swing of Chicago house. The sassy, spoken female vocal comes to the fore on "Eau De Chante (For Men)" and "Eu De Chante (For Sex)", the latter of which is built around woozy loops and a more thrusting, analogue-sounding bassline. There's also a killer 'For Beats' version for those DJs who like to get busy in the mix.

Review: Mint Condition is relentless in its mission to serve up carefully chosen reissues of house and tech classics from days gone by. It is now fast approaching a 60th EP as its strides into 2023 with UK tech house pioneers Terry Francis and Nathan Coles aka The Delinquents next up. This one came on their own Wiggle label back in 1998 and is perfectly indicative of their sound. 'Break & Enter' has warm liquid rubber bass, crispy snares and kinetic drum funk that makes you bump. 'TDA (To Dance Alot)' has chunky clicks and heavy drums that make you march and 'GBH (Groovy Bouncy House)' has a more far-sighted cosmic vibe.

Review: The third volume in Tiger & Woods Unleashed Tapes series is a rare solo outing from Larry Tiger (real name Valerio Del Prete) under his occasional Delphi alias. As you'd expect, it boasts the same loop-based, synth-heavy, house-not-house style as the Tiger & Woods material he produces with Marco Passarani, albeit with more of a focus on sounds more often found in Italo-disco and new wave records. Highlights include the spacey robo-disco thrust of 'Vector', the mid-tempo Italo-disco shimmer of 'Silicone Emotion', the hard-wired heaviness of 'Riscio' - all undulating sequenced bass, echoing drum machine hits and mutilated talkbox vocals - and the squelchy, Bobby Orlando-influenced 'Metropole'.

Review: Much loved doom monger emo kids Depeche Mode have always been ripe for remixing by new generations of electronic music artists and so it is that there 'My Favourite Stranger' gets a series of re-rubs here on Columbia. Tech house mainstay Boris Brejcha remixes first and elongates the grooves with mournful pads up top. The Ela Minus remix of the same tune brings some extra textured and darker moods and the best is saved till the last if you ask us. The Lond Island Sound remix is high speed and tinged with electro synth work as the moody vocals echo about the mix to trippy effect.

Review: Sushitech is back with another of its sublime vinyl-only projects and this one focuses on the work of Dexter. There will be three 12"s in all that draw together some of the producer's finest moments. He is a truly cult figure amongst those who know and he served up a fresh take on tech, acid, dub and house between 1997 and 2004 when these tracks were first made - if you can find any of those original records prepare to pay loads for them, or else dive into Past Moves I. It has a brace of slick, tightly programmed cuts underpinned by rolling pads with lovely lo-fi pads up top. Heady stuff.

Review: Past Moves III is the final instalment of the vinyl-only series served up by Berlin's ever-well-curated and cultured Sushitech label. It is another essential 12' that packs in plenty of heat from the long-time UK favourite. His records are hard to find and expensive when you do and this collection highlights some of his superbly blended acid, dub, tech and house grooves from back between 1997 and 2004. On this one, you will find a pair of weighty, warm, and dubbed out tech cuts with bounce in the drums and Detroit soul in the pads. Timeless stuff.

Review: The second part of Sushitech's three-part vinyl-only series looking at the work of Dexter is another 12" doozy. The UK underground mainstay has been behind many cult and much sought-after records over the years and they all fuse obscure dub and acid tech house in smart ways. They were recorded between 1997-2004 and if you can find any OGs then you will be paying upwards of 100 quid for them. This slab has three driving but deep sounds carefully detailed with wispy pads and filtered vocals for perfect backroom deployment.

Review: Motor City mainstay and former Slum Village associate DJ Dez Andres has many skills up his sleeve from mad scratching to vibrant Latin flavour mixes that draw on his Cuban heritage via dusty house rollers and deep hip-hop gems. Here he mixes all that up on a new EP for Beretta Music that is now available on purple vinyl. His sunny and delightful melodies are present and correct in each cut, as are his signature slouchy and hip-hop-inspired drums. All four of the tunes hit the sweet spot but the funky boucle of 'Back To Nature' is one that really stands out here.

Review: 'Debes Llorar' is the second of two super limited 7"s being dropped by Dez Andres on the fledgling Future Rootz label this month. Like the other one, this 45 pulls out plenty of the Cuban influences Dez is known for. A-side 'Debes Llorar' is all life-affirming chords that fans of his classic 'New 4 U' will recognise, but stitched over ticking and raw drum beats with a Latin shuffle and Spanish vocals. 'Aqui Estamos' takes things down a notch with a more sunset sound, hip-hop flecked deep house beats and seductive vocal sounds next to gorgeous little acoustic guitar riffs.
