'Get Up' features KG's expressive Jamaican style vocals with lots of B.Valentine ad libs which are designed to get those asses shaking and hands in the air. T Recs has pressed up these two house cuts on alluring green wax and riddled them with big samples. The first will be familiar to fans of Donald Glover's 'This Is America' which has the vocal samples and crowd chants layered into a chunky tribal house cut. On the flip is a similar tune with tweaked vocals. Both will bring big reactions to the club.

Review: Four tracks from another new school Detroit name who's been around for decades, Tink Thomas, who returned to his first musical love - house - after forging a highly successful name for himself as a hip-hop and r&b producer, not least producing for Madonna's Maverick label. Although they would happily fit in alongside the latest Kyle Hall or Theo Parrish, thanks to some sexily syncopated work in the rhythmic department, there's a markedly different vibe to the likes of overtly disco-slanted rug cutter 'Gonna Make U Dance' and the prominently reggae flavoured overtones of 'Wat A Bam' and 'Mistic Flow', that means it'll stand out while knowing exactly how to keep the faithful on their feet. Review: Exploited is one of those ever-present labels that have never made big headliners or had breakout anthems, but that's probably helped it stay relevant rather than getting chewed up and spat out by the hype cycle. Label head Shir Khan is back here to present a 36th Black Jukebox EP, with Paul Rudder & Kresy serving up the tunes. Their first collab is warm Euro-centric deep house which then gets remixed by Kresy into a 'Continuum mix.' On the flip side, Rudder goes it alone with another warm, well-designed and catchy house roller in the form of 'Her Dream Road'. This time, Kresy serves up a heady Mellonized mix to close out.

Review: Rick Clarke was signed to Soul II Soul's Funki Dreds label, meaning he was contractually not allowed to release his music elsewhere. As such, he anonymously slipped out this album Guess Who in 1992, but now it gets a welcome reissue on Freestyle Records under the artist's given name. It is packed with creative ideas and sweet stripped back house grooves with a hint of garage swing. It features plenty of Rick's friends and collaborators who all came to his MJB Records studio in West Kensington where the LP was produced and recorded in just a few days. It's packed with raw drum machine sounds, great basslines and sweet melodies.

Review: More Fries and Bridges on Robsoul means more peak time proper house music with that soulful NJ garage flavour. The Ghetto Mix of "Just Because" ripples with percussive delight, whilst the drop into searing piano riff and uplifting vocal samples that play out the track adds a extra sheen of energy to proceedings - good work Mr Weeks and Mr Morales. On the flip, "Peep Game" rides a heavy bump aided by crisp 808 hits and a compressed disco bassline. There's a healthy dose of infectious EQing on the vocal loop that acts as the core rhythmic pulse too.

Review: The little-known Mangiadischi is the name of both artist and label, and this is the third release to grace the catalogue of this very fresh series. Three weirdo breaks and house medleys for the oddball listener feature here: 'Time Tah Get Groovy' comes laden with sped-up femme vocal samples filtered through loco scratchwork, all set against a hardened house backing. Then, on the B-side, things get even weirder with 'Don Lee', which indeterminately edits a Talking Heads-style original (a song we can't track down for the life of us) but plunges it into a submerged edited haze of transitional and novelty FX; then, finally, there's 'Lime & Loco', a clever but very surreal remix of Harry Nilsson's 'Lime In The Coconut'.

Review: Stockholm based Ari Bald is up next for Better Listen after inaugurating Honey Butter Records last year with that great release. He keeps on with that deep disco spirit with these four funky and lo-slung jams. On the A side, we have two ergonomic edits in the form of "That Lonely Night" and "Enchantress" respectively which are looped to perfection with some somewhat familiar hooks that gradually build up to that drop! That's where the thumping kick comes charging in and it's sure geared for maximum dancefloor dynamics. Review: The term Afro-house seems to be getting chukka bout ever more freely and ever less responsibly these days. This second volume of Afro Rhythms from Comet France does have some credible and authentic claims on the term though with source material by Afro beat legend Tony Allen amongst others getting some fine remix treatment. Ricardo Villalobos & Max Loderbauer go first with an elastic dub, Jeff Sharel layers in more minimal textures to his remix of Brighter Nights and on the flip is a standout from Ed Banger's Krazy Baldhead which is all tin-pot percussion, shuffling broken rhythms and off grid madness.
