Review: Tim 'Erdbeerschnitzel' Keiling has been rather quiet of late, with his last release of note being the superb Ample Waters 12" on Delsin this time last year. The appearance of this third full-length - his first since 2012's Tender Leaf on Mirau - may explain his silence. Attendants is, somewhat predictably, another fine example of Keiling's talent for producing emotion-rich, melodious electronic music that refuses to stick to one tried-and-tested groove or rhythmic pattern. While rooted in the beauty of deep house and the spacey futurism of Detroit, many of the tracks owe as much to glitch-hop, broken beat and IDM as straight-up dancefloor fare. Regardless, it's an album that veritably glistens with positive intent from start to finish.

Review: It's been five years since the last album from long serving, Los Angeles based electronic experimentalist Eskmo. In the intervening years, he's devoted much time to soundtrack work, and composing music for orchestras. This is reflected in the feel of Sol, an album that fuses field recordings, pulsing electronics, glitchy beats and occasional folksy vocals with the kind of intricate orchestral arrangements that are fast becoming his calling card. Supposedly inspired by the interplay between the earth, the sun and the moon, it's a typically emotive set, with moments of murky darkness rubbing shoulders with heart-aching compositions and grandiose, rush-inducing instrumentals.

Review: New York-based Eve Essex is something of an artistic whirlwind. She's a classically trained bassoonist, a successful sculptor and a member of a number of musical groups, so it's perhaps surprising that she's found time to record this intriguing debut album. It's an imaginative and notably left-of-centre affair, with Essex serving up a mixture of dystopian ambient pop (see fabulous opener "Grind Away" and the drowsy "Satisfaction Theories"), expressive free-jazz ("Immediate Communicator") and chiming "Fourth World" explorations ("Life of Service", "Hear Appear"). While there are plenty of purely instrumental cuts, it's generally those featuring Essex's distinctive vocals that stand out.

Review: Collapsing Market is a record label based in Paris by Cyrus Goberville & Louis Vial aka Eszaid - who presents here his second full length. The Eurosouvenir LP was inspired by the metaphoric symbolism of 0€ banknotes found at tourist hotspots across the continent and further examines Eszaid's fascination with the connections between finance, human emotion, music and art - using samples, machines and field recordings. From the guttural industrial sludge of opener "XEU.4217" through to the slow burning deep techno-like "Derivation lente", offworld IDM expressions of "Notre Mer" and "Alicante" and the powerful closer "GRD.4217" which is reminiscent of early Kangding Ray.

Review: Melbourne trio F Ingers are formed of Tarcar pair Carla Dal Forno and Tarquin Manek along with Samuel Karmel and their Blackest Ever Black debut is some seriously drugged out, lo-fi electronics sounding like early Chris & Cosey crossed with Syd Barrett style psychedelia. Such examples of this are on tracks "Escape Into Bushes" and "Under The House Hard To Breathe". Likewise, tracks like "Blissful Cubby House" and "Useless Treasure" sound like CTI.. if they were joined by a guitarist! The perfect soundtrack for rainy Sunday afternoons after a big night out.

Review: F ingers (mind the gap) are a Melbourne based trio led by 'part time Berliner' Carla dal Forno with Tarquin Manek (her partner in Tarcar) and Samuel Karmel. Following up their debut in on London's Blackest Ever Black in 2015, this curious Aussie bunch serve up another collection of trippy lo fi electronics for getting stoned to. Recorded between 2015 and 2017, you'll be entranced as dal Forno's pure tonal vocal effects are set adrift above Manek's supple basslines and Karmel's subtle synth washes.

Review: Producer Alexander P.J Geiger was very active during the noughties, releasing a string of singles and albums (both as Geiger and Nass) before all but disappearing from view. Fahrland is his latest artistic incarnation and this, the project's debut outing, marks the producer's first release for eight years. The title, Mixtape Volume 1, hints at the album's construction; this is a set of disparate tracks that showcase Geiger's ability to turn his hand to a myriad of genres. So becalmed ambient cuts are followed, in sequence, by tracks that variously doff a cap to Balearic synth-pop, lo-fi electronic soul, ultra-deep house, jammed-out intergalactic techno, krautrock, hip-hop and dream pop.

Review: More Than Human are based in Canada and have previously released records by Pye Corner Audio, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe and Ekoplekz. Their next release comes from Faten Kanaan, a Brooklyn based artist who slowly builds songs by live-looping them into a narrative, without the use of sequencers or arpeggiators. His third full-length Foxes is loosely inspired by early Surrealist automatism, made-up languages, Middle-Eastern Hakawati storytellers, and the minimalist poignancy of mimes. Here, Fatan uses sound as an intuitive gesture to tell a wordless story, exploring intimacy, anxiety, mischief and restlessness.

Review: Faust stand among the most influential creative forces to have emerged from Germany in the late '60s and early '70s. Along with Can, Agitation Free, Neu! and others, they rejected the Anglo-American norms of rock 'n' roll to start a back-to-basics and uniquely Teutonic revolution in sound - later dubbed by the UK press as 'Krautrock'. Comprised of twenty odd tape manipulation experiments and freak-out jams, this LP stashes away some of the band's best-known songs.

Review: Brazilian producer Fernando Seixlack has previously impressed with a couple of notably punky albums of experimental techno under the Innyster alias. Here he makes his debut for Ron Morelli's esteemed L.I.E.S imprint with a first full-length under his own name. While still as fuzzy, lo-fi and out-there as its predecessors, "Fernando" is a surprisingly melodious and tuneful affair, with Seixlack wrapping glistening - if distorted and pixilated - guitars and trippy synthesizer motifs around bustling machine beats and wayward electronic percussion. At times it touches on electro, at others IDM and more experimental, abstract pursuits; throughout, the album remains both hugely entertaining and pleasingly atmospheric.

Review: Ladies and Gentlemen, you're in for a real treat this week. You might know, or even recognise, Bernard Fevre for the infamous Black Devil Disco Club LP, a timeless disco deviation that has been so important to the development of electronic dance music that Aphex Twin first reissued it on Rephlex. Fevre has always been a mysterious character, but we weren't aware that he possessed a whole vault of unreleased music from the late 1970's. Much like the cult Disco Club LP, Orbit Ceremony is a diverse and singular piece of work, with tracks that span from coldwave to synth-pop way before they were even coined as genres, and we thank Medical Records from the bottom of our hearts for having convinced Fevre to resurface this long-lost material. We know you're intrigued and can't wait to hear this dopeness, but we won't spoil it for you - we can't possibly describe this visionary work with mere words. Look, if you like house, techno, leftfield, disco, or even industrial, this is what you should be listening to, because this is where it all starts. What a release - this is super-duper recommended!

Review: There's always been something rather special about King Britt's ability to effortlessly switch musical focus between projects and aliases. Contrast, for example, the retro-soul giddiness of Sylk 130, the electronic polyrhythms and heavy bruk of Oba Funke, and the trippy electronic darkness of his work under the baffling Fhloston Paradigm pseudonym. This debut album under that alias - on the back of a handful of singles a few years back - is predictably magical, mixing spaced-out textures and stargazing synths with off-kilter rhythms, loose jazz beats and Detroit-inspired grooves. Dark and atmospheric, with a touch of the Jeff Mills about it (certainly conceptually, if not aesthetically), The Phoenix makes for mesmerizing listening from start to finish.

Review: Unicursal Hexagram, the debut album from Brooklyn-based experimentalist Jahiliyya Fields remains a highlight of the L.I.E.S. discography some three years after its release. The left-of-centre synthesizer soundscapes, droning textures and experimental explorations were astounding at the time, and it's an album you can revisit now and still uncover new depths. On Chance Life, his second album for L.I.E.S., Jahiliyya Fields changes tack a little with the 11 tracks a tad closer to the dancefloor. While there are still out-there moments (including a bizarre spoken word cut), for the most part the album pairs his throbbing synthesizers and crusty electronics with dense techno grooves, psychedelic tribal rhythms and humid box jams.
