AM Clean Sound Anti Static Record Mat (single)
Cat: 636089 Rel: 23 Jan 17

Carbon fibre felt record mat
Notes: AM's carbon fibre felt mat removes static charges from the record during playing for hiss and pop free listening. Unlike other anti-static mats on the market that claim to be made with carbon fibre, this one actually is.

Silence background noise and improve your soundstage, imaging, and tonal accuracy with the Anti-static record mat.

Made from felted carbon filaments to reduce friction and static build-up, the Anti-static record mat offers the clean sound of felt without the static.

The self-damping properties of the carbon fibre are especially effective with analogue playback, where small stray vibrations can cause big problems. Open up the sound spectrum of your collection and improve their everyday performance.

Free Float Deck Stabilizers (Blue)
Cat: 199963 Rel: 10 Jan 06

Pair of inflatable deck stabilizers to reduce vibration and needle jumping during mixing. Inflatable air cushion protects turntable from vibrations and rumble. (Blue with Aroma Recordings logo).
Notes: The Freefloat is a specially designed aircushion for turntables in a DJ set-up. By placing a turntable on a Freefloat, direct contact between the turntable and the DJ booth is avoided. This results in improved skip resistance of the needles and eliminates rumble problems completely. Because there is less chance of feedback you can push your levels more and get a little more low-end frequency. The Freefloat is a very simple but sturdy and well-executed tool to help all DJs and sound engineers.

Frequency Test Record
Frequency Test Record (frequency/service vinyl disc)
Cat: 958689 Rel: 28 Jul 23

An analogue LP containing numerous reference sound sources for correcting and adjusting turntables, DJ mixers, and sound systems.
Notes: An analogue LP containing numerous reference sound sources for correcting and adjusting turntables, DJ mixers, and sound systems!

Side A includes:

1. Left/right balance (1:35) First, check the left/right balance. Since the click sound is recorded on the left and right sides with the same volume, please adjust the level knob of the playback device so that the click sound can be heard from the centre when listening from the front. Then confirm with another click.

2. Phase response (1:32) Checks the phase for correct polarity in stereo equipment. When the phase is normal, the white noise sound is heard from the centre, and when the phase is reversed, it is heard separately outside the speaker.

3. 1kHz (0:35) This is the reference tone of 1kHz. This sound is said to be the reference level of the playback equipment. It is used for checking the output voltage and S/N ratio.

4. Crosstalk (1:10) Check left/right crosstalk on playback equipment. A 440 Hz A sound (radio time signal sound) is initially played on the left channel for 15 seconds. Check how much this sound leaks into the light channel. The less sound leaks, the better the crosstalk. Then run it for 15 seconds on the light channel as well. Check how much it leaks into the left channel.

5. Irregular rotation (2:23) To check the "irregular rotation" of the turntable, run a 3kHz sound for 120 seconds. A turntable with little "rotational unevenness" allows you to hear sound at a constant pitch. When there is a lot of unevenness, it sounds unstable.

6. Standing Waves (1:43) Check out the standing waves in the listening room. Since it varies continuously from 20Hz to 1kHz, it can be said that there are few standing waves if the volume is uniform.

7. Non-recording groove (0:45) This is a non-recording groove for checking the noise-to-signal level ratio of the entire device. You can also use it to check for turntable rumble or hum.

8. Frequency response (1:53) High range frequency response (15kHz, 10kHz, 9kHz, 8kHz, 7kHz, 6kHz, 5kHz, 4kHz, 3kHz, 2kHz, 1kHz). Low range frequency response (1:33 1kHz, 800Hz, 500Hz, 400Hz , 300Hz, 200Hz, 100Hz, 70Hz, 50Hz).

9. Special appendix: sound effects 1. Table tennis (1:00) 2. Helicopter (0:30) 3. Racing car (0:30) 4. Steam locomotive (0: 30) 5. Truck (0:30).

Side B includes two Japanese Jazz standards as well as other recordings to test your settings.

Hi Fi News Analogue Test LP - The Producers Cut
Cat: 554220 Rel: 11 Nov 14

Analogue test LP with 2 sides of vital tools for testing and setting up your analogue system
Notes: This is the one record no analog system should be without. Featuring two full sides of excellent tools, the HiFi News Test LP is the best investment you can make. With tracks for testing everything from channel balance to azimuth, the HiFi News Test LP offers simple to use and comprehensive tests to allow everyone from analog newbies to record collectors get the most out of their turntables.

SIDE ONE
Track 1: Channel Identification: Voice on Left channel then on Right channel
Reversing left and right channels is one of the most common mistakes in an analog rig. If the channels are reversed, imaging, depth and dynamic range suffer. This track ensures the most basic test for a high performance system is covered.

Track 2: Phasing: Voice alternately "in phase" and "out of phase"
Reversing the cartridge leads is the second most common mistake made in an analog rig. Miswiring the phase at the cartridge destroys imaging, space, depth, bass extension and overall system gain. This track offers easily audible cues to highlight phase inaccuracies.

Tracks 3, 4, 5: Channel Balance: -20db pink noise tests
These three tracks provide mid-range weighted random noise to ensure tonal balance is set correctly. When listening, neither the left nor the right speaker should be louder. Track 3 is pink noise in both channels, Track 4 is Left only and Track 5 is Right Only. Check these tracks before moving on to the Bias tracks. (NOTE: Test Cut 4 and 5 for use with the Fozgometer Azimuth Device)

Tracks 6, 7, 8: Bias setting: 300Hz tone, both channels at +12dB, +14dB, +16dB, respectively
These tracks are for setting anti-skate. If the 300Hz test tone is heard distorting or buzzing on either channel, then the anti-skate function needs to be adjusted. Each successive track is more difficult for the arm and cartridge; increasing tracking force towards the top of the cartridge's recommended range will assist in properly resolving these tracks.

Track 9: Bias setting: 300Hz tone, both channels +18dB
This track stands alone as perhaps the most difficult track for a cartridge to track cleanly. Although it's only 2dB higher than track 8, this track is perhaps the most famous of the four, as only the very best gear and alignments can pass it unscathed. For those with more modest gear, results from this track should be taken with a grain of salt.

SIDE TWO
Tracks 1, 4, 8: Tracking ability: 300Hz tone, both channels +15dB
These three tracks contain identical information, which enables testing of the consistency of the cartridge's track across the entire surface of the record. These tracks - outside, middle and center - are designed to be used together, making sure that the cartridge sounds the same in all three positions. These tracks are also great for checking anti-skate and tracking force settings. Consistency is the key with these three tracks, if all three are spot-on, then most records should sound great.

Tracks 2 & 3: Cartridge & Arm, Lateral & Vertical Resonance Test
These two tracks are used to test the resonant frequency or your tonearm and cartridge combination in both the vertical and horizontal domains. These tracks offer both a visual and auditory indication of the resonant frequency; the stylus will "wobble" and the test tone will warble. A resonant frequency between 8 - 15Hz is ideal.

Track 5: Cartridge alignment test: 300Hz, both channels +6dB
Ideal playback occurs when the stylus is exactly perpendicular to the record, this track tests the cartridge's azimuth adjustment. When this track is played back in stereo, there will be identical output from both speakers, however, when the output is switched to mono, both tracks should cancel each other out for, ideally, no output.

Track 6: Residual System Noise Test
There's nothing in this groove, this track is completely unmodulated. Played back at normal listening levels the stylus will highlight any noise created by the analog rig; a worn bearing, noisy motor or poor vibration control. Playback of this track should be completely silent.

Track 7: Full Range Frequency System Check: Both Channels, 20Hz -20KHz, Sweep
This track will give your system a real workout, as the deepest bass swells up to the highest of highs. Listen carefully for resonance within the system and in the room.

Mobile Fidelity GeoDisc Cartridge Alignment Tool
Mobile Fidelity GeoDisc Cartridge Alignment Tool (phono cartridge alignment tool)
Cat: 423304 Rel: 12 Apr 11

Phono cartridge alignment tool
Notes: Mobility Fidelity Sound Lab's Geo-Disc is the perfect complement to its series of limited edition original master recordings. Both will markedly improve the sonic performance of your stereo playback system. The high fidelity pleasures of original master recordings, even the audio content of conventional records, cannot be totally realized in your phonograph pickup apparatus (stylus/cartridge) if it is not aligned accurately. This is where the Geo-Disc is essential.

With extensive research and development, the Geo-Disc features a proprietary 3D visual system that delivers incredibly precise, uncomplicated, rapid and economical cartridge alignment. Mobile Fidelity's Geo-Disc is an LP sized platter that provides a very accurate spot for adjusting the cartridge overhang, and has visual gridlines for properly adjusting the offset angles. It's a lot easier to use than those flimsy plastic templates or paper cutouts that come with a lot of turntables. Just fit the disc on your platter and align using the simple printed graph based on the Baerwald alignment curve.

Pro-Ject Cork IT 12" Cork Turntable Mat (single)
Cat: 640566 Rel: 07 Mar 17

Cork turntable mat for enhanced sound quality & reduced static electricity
Notes: Sound tuning through platter mat replacement! The interaction between the record and the surface can be tracked very easily by the sensitivity of a good pick up cartridge.

Common felt mats give a smooth contact between record and platter but have the disadvantage of static. This means that felt mats often collect a lot of dust which can be then transferred to the record. Also, the damping ability is very limited which can be a problem with metal platters. Thick rubber mats overdamp the record and have an isolation effect which leaves static on the record - hearable noise clicks are the result.

Leather and Cork are 2 different but very interesting options to upgrade the sound quality. Resonances are damped more effectively than felt, they keep dust away and also avoid static.

Which is better largely depends on taste and the actual platter design. These mats are a very cost effective way to improve the sound and have less noise by static and dust. You can hear a difference!

Project Damp IT Absorbant Feet (set of 4)
Cat: 640568 Rel: 15 Feb 17

Set of 4 high-quality damping feet made from synthetic rubber material
Notes: Audio components can be sensitive to mechanical vibration, which limits their high-fidelity performance. To keep vibration from your valuable equipment, Damp It feet are a perfect solution with maximum effect at the lowest possible price. Damp It offers similar characteristics as their superior big brother Absorb It, but without high-class aluminium casing. Designed to be placed underneath bookshelf speakers or the original feet of sensitive equipment like turntables, all disc players, tube amplifiers and other components.

Damp It prevents transmission of vibration when positioned on vibrating surfaces like glass, metal or thin wood panels. When Damp It is used for both bookshelf speakers and turntable, you can play up to 30% louder without the risk of acoustical feedback. Surfaces typically are excited by speakers, subwoofers or simply by low frequency emission caused by road traffic and transformers. Speaker cabinets and almost all feet of audio devices, like turntables, amplifiers, disc players are not designed to isolate sufficiently from frequency ranges, that really matter.

Damp It consists of high-tech synthetic rubber material, that dampens a wide frequency range from infrasonic to 500 Hz and therefore prevents transmission of structure-born sound effectively. It works like an electronic subsonic filter, but without having their assets and drawbacks. Because of its intelligent and rugged design, it can be used for all bookshelf speakers and any sensitive equipment with 3 or 4 feet and even with high mass units up to 20 kg!

Effectively prevents transmission of unwanted vibration in a cost-effective way!

Project Strobe IT Strobe Disc
Project Strobe IT Strobe Disc (RPM calibration & cartridge alignment tool)
Cat: 640587 Rel: 07 Mar 17

RPM calibration & cartridge alignment tool
Notes: The useful and innovative combination of a stroboscope - AKA, a speed-checker for your turntable - and a cartridge alignment tool.

An essential accessory for any turntable enthusiast.

Strobe it shows circular arranged dashes that are assigned to speed and frequency. Please remember the ring that matches your desired speed and frequency (33 1/3 rpm with 50 Hz and 45 rpm with 50 Hz are valid for Europe). Put Strobe it on the turntable platter and start the turntable. The tonearm remains in its initial position. Align a mains-powered light source directly to the turntable with Strobe it rotating. The dashes of the previously pinned ring should now give the impression to stand still. If they seem to move slightly forward or backwards, the speed is either too high or too low.

Please note:

Use normal mains operated lamps. Daylight, fluorescent lamps (energy saving lamps) as well as flashlights and LEDs, which are operated with direct current, are not suitable.

SRM Tech The Revolution Record Clamp
Cat: 434234 Rel: 14 Nov 11

Record/spindle damping device
Notes: The SRM-Tech Revolution is a record/spindle damping device featuring an integral spirit level. It is manufactured from acrylic and sorbothane, and is designed to effectively damp the record and turntable spindle, without disturbing the balance of suspended sub-chassis turntables.

The Revolution acts in a similar way to a clamp, the sorbothane base grips the spindle and clings to the record label. Unlike a conventional clamp though, it does not exert undue pressure on the record stressing the surface of the vinyl. SRM-Tech call it a soft clamp.

The theory behind damping the record is to absorb or minimise:

1. The vibration picked up by the record acoustically, a good example of this is if you tap the label
2. The vibration transmitted to the record from the motor / main bearing
3. That generated by the stylus itself, when tracing the modulations in the groove.

The ideal is to damp the record without resorting to any method that unduly distorts the surface of the vinyl. The most elegant solution is to use The Revolution, which is preferably in conjunction with SRM-Tech silicone platter mat.

The Revolution also features a 20mm circular spirit level (in the optimum position, the centre of the platter) which will allow you to perfectly level your deck, minimising tracking error, wow and motor/bearing noise. RAM-Tech carried out extensive listening tests during the development of this product and experienced impressive sound quality improvements on every turntable. Improvements you can expect are a quieter, smoother sound with firmer, more tuneful bass. The Revolution also makes vocals more articulate and detailed, as well as reducing surface noise.

The Revolution is 80mm diameter, 22mm high and weighs 78g. It will accept spindles that project up to 11mm above the record label.

Tonar Black Leather Turntable Mat (single)
Cat: 567729 Rel: 27 Mar 15

Leather turntable mat for isolation of vinyl from surroundings
Notes: During the past 20 years the quality of record players and vinyl records have improved dramatically. Acoustic feedback is one of the big problems when playing records. The cause is the sound that has just been produced by the speakers which comes back to the record player and cause it to vibrate. The problems is that there is a very slight time difference between the reproduced sound and the sound that is fed back onto the record player. This results in a big loss of detail and clarity and makes the sound "muddy". So every effort has to be done to isolate the record player from its surroundings as well as to isolate the record from the record player.

In order to reduce acoustic feedback from the surroundings back to the record and the cartridge a lot of effort has gone into developing turntable mats that make the reproduced sound crystal clear with great separation and detail. This has been done by experimenting with various materials which absorb unwanted vibrations which were not present in the original recording. Now many people are trying to combine these different materials as a sandwich at the same time in order to reach better results. Now Tonar offers you this opportunity to experiment yourself but at modest pricing.

In order to enhance the better contact between the record and the mat, the center part - with the dimensions of the label have been recessed to accommodate the thicker label part.

- Diameter 295 mm.
- Thickness 3 mm.

Tonar Nostatic Arm Static Electricity & Dust Removal Tool
Cat: 567662 Rel: 24 Mar 15

Static electricity and dust removal arm tool, with carbon fibre brush and sliding weight for force adjustment
Notes: The Nostatic Arm is the modern version of the formerly well known "Dust Bug" by Cecil Watts. The Nostatic arm incorporates a carbon fiber brush that removes the static electricity from the record during playback, and at the same time picks up the loose dust before the stylus reaches that part of the record. The Nostatic arm has an earth wire which is connected to the earth of the record player or the amplifier.

The height can be easily adjusted to fit most record players. It also has a sliding weight in order to adjust the "dusting force" of the brush. Finally the base of the brush has sticky tape so if preferred it can be stuck to the surface of the record player for easy use.
