Omnitronic TRM-422: the rotary mixer on a new level

The desired child- Omnitronic's popular TRM series has been expanded: the TRM-422 combines all the proven features of the previous models, but additionally offers functions that numerous fans had wished for. During the development of the mixer, the focus was on the demands and suggestions of the community.

Full control- Each of the 4 input channels has 2 line inputs, one of which can become a phono input at the touch of a button. The channels are each equipped with a volume as well as a gain control. In addition to the master isolator (bass, mid & high), the DJ has the option to activate a filter with HPF, BPF, LPF, resonance and sweep controls in each of the 4 input channels.

The master output is available to the DJ in both XLR and RCA versions.

Effect ways- The use of external effect devices is possible through an FX-In and FX-Out via 6.3 mm jack. The mixer's master insert is also equipped with a send & return (unbalanced) path. This allows additional external effects to be looped into the mixer.

DVS integration- The mixer's timecode outputs allow easy integration of a DVS system (Digital Vinyl System) such as Traktor or Serato.

Monitor section- The booth output of the TRM-422 is provided with one XLR and one RCA connector. The signal of the booth output can be easily adjusted to the conditions in the DJ booth with the help of an EQ (High & Low).

Microphone inputs- The TRM-422 offers 2 microphone inputs. The first mic input gives the DJ the ability to modify the mic signal with EQ (high & low).

Backup source- With the help of the AUX input on the front panel, players such as smartphones, tablets or MP3 players can easily be connected via mini-jack (3.5 mm) and thus serve as a backup solution.

Activatable crossfader- If you don't want to do without a crossfader during your DJ set, you have the option to assign each of the 4 channels to the integrated crossfader. If the crossfader is not used, it can easily be switched off.

Set recording- The RCA record-out makes it easy to record your own DJ set.

The new class-A circuitry carries over the 24 dB /Oct filters, crossover frequencies, bypass Relay, and a "full cut" to a maximum boost of +12 dB. With the staggering number of components, including 28 BJT and 32 FET transistors, Resor have achieved outstanding performance in sound and measures.

The 3-band channel EQ is an entirely new design. It brings a fresh set of frequency curves and attenuation levels across all three bands, a lower noise floor, and retaining the discrete Op-Amp on duty.

There is a different curve across these two segments, with the Isolator having a more pronounced sweep and colour. In use, this means that per channel, you get to craft your sound via the EQ and then craft further still with a different tonal balance with the Isolator.

Across the EQ and Isolator, plenty of headroom is available across all frequency ranges, providing plenty of control when crafting the audio.

Each of its four channels features hi-fi Phono and Line inputs. With Phono preamps delivering 44 dB of Gain, both vinyl and digital are well-balanced. Further refinements on the Phono preamps gave us even more pleasing dynamics, headroom, and a broader frequency spectrum.

Resor offer an additional element of customisation that one can specify when they place their order, ranging from adding an FX-bus, changing the combination of colours for the faceplate to different wood finishes and knob options.

There are two high grade phono stage preamplifiers with standard RIAA EQ to ensure faithful full range production from a standard MM record cartridge, which can also be switched to line input levels for convenience.

USB
Uniquely offered on our rotary mixer is a high quality 32bit/384khz four channel sound card built in to the DN78 Phantom Valve enabling easy integration to digital media. The USB interface can be used for playback from most popular DJ software platforms on both MAC and PC.

Microphone Input
A high-quality MIC channel with a single gain control on the back panel gives up to 56db of gain and feeds the signal over the stereo mix.

FX Send & Return
There is also a stereo effects send and return which allows a pre isolator signal to be fed into an external effects unit and a stereo return to be fed post Isolator. Both have individual levels controllable from the front panel. The effects return can also be used as an additional stereo source input for line level signals.

Headphone
A powerful headphone amp ensures more than adequate monitor levels for all types of headphones with separate cue/mix cross fader to check your output mix.

Master & Booth
Finally, there is a master section with a powerful 4 way output with both separate booth and master level controls. Both outputs feed RCA outputs and full balanced outputs designed for driving long lines, giving more than adequate levels to drive almost any amplifier set up.

Metering
Professional Stereo VU meters display master output levels they offer a more precise indication of level than that of led meters. Therefore, we have integrated a pair of analogue VU meters -20 - +6db to show a more accurate measurement of the output level with an additional clip level indicator to ensure the sound remains clear.

The Knobs
Black Fluted Knobs Silver Centre, 16mm, 27mm, 33mm are very popular to provide an accurate level control. The vintage RCA Viz knob have a very classic look and very precise.

The Pots
All our potentiometers are made by ALPS, a company established in 1948 from Japan who are one of the most important electronic manufacturers ever. The smooth feeling of these potentiometers make the rotary performance a pleasure to operate and give precise control.

MODEL 1 has a unique offering of six fully featured input channels plus two stereo returns in a small format frame. An evolution of the renowned FF4000, the FF4.2 features precise four-band, full-kill EQ on all channels. This allows for complete frequency band cuts and isolation as well as subtle spectral balance mixing more commonly associated with studio mixers. The EQ frequency response characteristics have been carefully optimised to give superior, intuitive control of bass, low-mid, high-mid and highs.

Channel 1 input is Mic and Balanced line with a selectable compressor. The Mic input may be set to Booth mix or post Booth mix. Channels 2-4 inputs are Phono and Line. The headphone may be set to pre or post EQ and there is a cue balance control. The cross fader features a contour control. A PRO X cross fader is available as a cost option.

Each channel has 2 selectable inputs, 4 band full kill EQ, 2 Aux, 12 LED meter and adjustable high and low pass filters. The low pass filter is adjustable from 20Hz to 1 KHz and the high pass from 1 kHz to 20KHz.

The output section includes Console mic, Master, Booth, and AUX level controls plus metering and headphone outputs. The headphone has a split selection.

Balanced inputs on channel 1 is on 3 pole 1/4 inch jack sockets. The compressors on channels 1 operates on both Mic and balanced line inputs. The compressor has a LED threshold indicator, and the compression and threshold can be adjusted using hidden controls through the base of the Mixer.
Inputs are selected by a switch at the top of each channel. Channels 2-4 have RCA phono connectors with the upper pair being line input and the lower pair phono.
