Kate (9:47)
Review: Melodie is here on the "Influences" EP. Reliable and effective minimal/tech house on offer from Swiss imprint Rora for fans of labels like Desolat et al. A side features reduced yet intricate rum programming, rolling bassline and trippy melodies that certainly tick the right boxes. On the B side we have "Kate" with its haunting yet seductive atmosphere showing a more intelligent side to his production yet keep intact the effective drum programming and well rolled bass.

Swim (7:54)
Mistress (18:02)
Review: After a couple of quiet years, Nicolas Jaar has hit back hard this year. As well as delivering a second album of crackly, intricate ambient compositions (the excellent and free to download Pomegranate), he's also found time to return to his dancefloor roots with the Nyphs II EP. This speedy follow-up to that 12" explores similar territory, with the 13-minute "Swim" rolling along on a wave of loose percussion, held-note bass and dusty, off-kilter samples in his usual eyes-wide-shut style. It takes a little time to really get going, but brilliant builds towards a dark, cacophonous conclusion. Flipside "Mistress" sees Jaar back in ambient mode, delivering a brilliantly atmospheric, high-minded piece for guitar and piano that's little less than stunning.

Fasma (9:54)
Yenbashu (10:43)
Review: Fans of quirky, Romanian style minimal techno should pay attention. London label Sylphe are renowned for their warped house shenanigans with all their 12" output to date pairing up Holdie Gawn and Micawber. This latest 12" however sees Micawber going it alone and it sounds pretty darn good. On the A side is "Fasma" all ridiculously pounding kick and alien murmurs accompanied by otherworldly pads. What more do you want? On the flip is "Yenbashu" which rolls deep with reductionist funk and more mind boggling, Martian soundscapes that defy comprehension. Ridiculously good.

Eclipse (8:48)
Thieves (9:57)
Review: British producer Tim Green is still at it. After making his splash on the scene several years on respected imprints such as Trapez, Dirtybird and Get Physical with his highly technical minimal grooves, his profile has reached another plateau as seen by this release on Sven Vath's vanguard Cocoon. First up is "Eclipse" with its warped, monster bassline and mesmerising synth work flowing all over the place that'd appeal to all the Border Community heads. On the flip we have "Thieves" going for a more standard tech house groove, getting some nice synth pads happening over a pumping peak time groove.

Just Speak (13:55)
Test 3.0 (ZZZDUBZZZ) (7:20)
Ritma Vs Doi (7:04)
Review: Sublee is a young and fledgling producer who also goes under the names of Marsomatic700 and Stedi, two aliases which have already appeared on the Nil label, an outlet centred on intricate minimal beats and wayward house grooves. Sublee's "Just Speak" is a driving little thumper with plenty of percussion weaving and bleeped-out melodies, whereas "Test 3.0 (ZZZDUBZZZ)" is glitchy, itchy and even more lo-fi in texture. The remainder of the flipside sees "Ritma vs Doi" struggle to contain its growing pulse and energy with a stumbling groove and airy shards of melody.

Gosyle (Alka Rex remix)
Ka (Original mix)
Hyperborea (Original mix)
Review: Billy Meier, the third record in The Untold Stories Protagonist EP Series, is by Suokas, and includes a remix by Alka Rex. The works stem from the remote town of Petrozavodsk in Russia, where the artist Suokas lives a life of diligent focus. The album is dedicated to Billy Meier whose extensive writings and transcriptions document his contact with extraterrestrial beings, largely from a civilisation called Plejaren located a fraction of a second shifted from our own dimension. His works are devoted to widening consciousness and challenge what we conventionally accept as true. Similarly inspired, Suokas says my music is about things that cannot be proven by conventional methods.

Vio (7:12)
Left (7:14)
Left (Martinez Concealed mix) (12:00)
Review: For Moss Co.'s fourth release, and first solo artist EP, they look to London's Antony Difrancesco. Antony's selective output on other London labels like Fuse and Othertones, has seen regular support from the highest echelons of house and techno. His enviable collection of hardware, and seemingly endless flow of creative ideas, are displayed brilliantly on MOSSV004. The record opens with Vio - a mystical track, filled with toms, bass and groove tied together with ethnic strings and an eerie pad. Left takes more of an experimental turn, with playful bass bouncing around the spectrum, complemented with analogue squelches. A beautifully warm pad brings an element of romance to the track, and crisp tops keep it dance-floor focused. On the remix, Martinez uses his signature Concealed sound to devastating effect, transforming track into a sleek, minimalistic, late-night affair.

2000 Drums (7:07)
Brule Parfum (6:46)
Hawain Rolls (6:51)
Hawain Rolls (OdD alternative concept) (6:59)
Review: New Bulgarian techno/house imprint CAPH sure knows how to make a first impression. Zendid presents four cuts on "2000 Drums." and there's some real diversity on here. First up is the title track, a smooth electro cut with a killer beat and swirling, all consuming pads. Then there's "Brule Parfum" which treads into minimal house territory with its trippy, densely reverberated beat and yet more lush pads taking you on a nice after hours journey. "Hawaiian Roles' keeps on with the minimal vibe with a more summery edge as its name suggests and just wait until those hi hats come in, nice! Lastly there's the OdD alternative concept remix of that last track which a brilliant rework just made for after hours, tech house mischief with its funky reductionist drum groove and rolling bassline. Check it.

A Night In Paris (5:19)
The Whistle (5:28)
Red Wigs Red Walls (5:57)
Come Back & Let Me Love You (7:22)
Review: The UK's Jamie Trench lands on Jamie Ward's Act Natural imprint after a healthy number of debut EP's for the likes of Tsuba, Viva Music, and his very own Roots For Bloom. Trench joins an impressive catalogue, one peppered with big-shot name such as D'Julz, and matches that with four slices of floor-centred tech-house. The title track "A Night In Paris" bops its way left and right thanks to a swinging pile of beats and deep low-ends, while "The Whistle" is more jacking and disco-filtered. Over on the flip, "Red Wings Red Walls" boasts a sweltering bassline amid minimal beats, whereas "Come Back & Let Me Love You" ties things off with a gentle, gorgeous and soulful mood.

Ethnicity (10:58)
Contradiction (7:42)
Takatum (7:31)
Review: The young Ruis imprint out of The Netherlands is back with its fifth outing, and this time the music comes from another newcomer, Leiris. The EP contains three slick and effective house jerkers with a techno edge, all of them programmed with the right sort of analogue fuzz. "Ethnicity" is pumping and boomy on the low-ends - a hypnotic journey into percussion and FX swells - while "Contradiction" is brilliantly off-kilter in its beat structure, and "Takatum" raises the tempo and vibes to more normal house level thanks to an uplifting bassline and considerably merrier melodies.
