Correspondance (9:21)
Correspondance (Audio Werner remix) (8:24)
Review: Berlin's Cab Drivers are the real deal. If their extensive collection of classic Roland machines wasn't enough, they even sequence them all on an old Atari ST you don't get more purist than that. Paul and Augustowsky's new track "Correspondence" has all the hallmarks of their signature sound: bumpin', melodic, rolling and emotive. You know; the Cab Drivers sound! On the flip, fellow Berlin minimal techno legend Audio Werner steps up to deliver a more darker and emotive remix that strays on the dubbier side of things and we loved it: Tip!

Black Talk
Ride On
Workshop
Review: Unblock label boss Tuccillo strikes again with another solid release with the EP Black Talk. This is the 5th release on this respected vinyl only imprint that has previously showcased talent such as Tomoki Tamura and Djebali but this time, comes from Tuccillo himself with his unmistakable signature sound.
Headlining track "Black Talk" has a great rolling baseline with plenty of swing with some subtle vocal snippets thrown in here and there.
"Ride on" has a tougher edge with some old school flavours driven by a rhythmic snare with lots of energy perfect for the height of club DJ set
Shopwork offers a more percussive sound over an infectious warm chunky groove, again with some cool short reggae influenced vocal snippets.
A timeless release that can stay in the box.

Kamadeva (9:14)
Domergue's Got A Secret (9:10)
Merimna (9:43)
Review: iO Mulen's eponymous imprint is unstoppable at the moment after releases by himself, homeboy Silat Beksi and Frenchman Varhat setting the bar high. Now it's over to emerging Romanian talent Suolo with this brilliant new one. Starting off in trippy and hypnotic fashion with the rather Villalobos-ish "Kamadeva", he then gets down with the ultra deep "Domergue's Got A Secret" which, likewise, is perfect for a Sunday afternoon after-hours in Bucharest. Finally, he saves the best for last on the flip with "Merimna", a rolling, trance inducing cut where subtlety and tight programming of elements effectively showcase a less is more work ethic.

Timofti - "Storyline" (7:47)
Timofti - "Blue Effect" (7:10)
Vlad Caia - "610" (remix) (7:59)
Vlad Caia - "393" (remix) (8:39)
Review: One half of Romanian duo Audiotheque, Sorin Timofti, flies solo for the second edition of new label OutOfStock's release schedule. He presents two tracks on the A side here: First offering "Storyline" is a deep and dreamy minimal house jam executed nicely with some trippy processed voice samples facing off with emotive pads and a rhythm perfected with clinical precision. "Blue Effect" is even more hi-tech and abstract with its huge warbled baseline and immaculately programmed beats that give a nod to Ricardo Villalobos. On the flip, Amphia's Vlad Caia presents "610 (remix)" a stripped down and functional groove for serious DJ use only that rolls deep, just the way we like! Then "393 (remix)" gets on the minimal funk train, bumping and glitching about in great style, much like his work with Cristi Cons on their SIT project.

Brija (Lopaski remix) (7:08)
DTC (6:40)
Kruf (6:11)
Review: Kase Kool main man out of Berlin Nick Beringer returns, inaugurating new imprint KK. Starting out in style with the kickin' deep groove of "Brija", he then serves up a nice remix of it by Lopaski; his version takes the track down a nice micro-house route that will appeal to fans of Lowris or Spacetravel. On the flip, there's the rather dubby and hypnotic "DTC" with an emphasis on moody elements and a strong bassline while "Kruf" closes the EP out just nicely on this rolling and groovy tech house journey.

Who's Snorki? (6:38)
Review: Offenbach's Martyne (Sensual/La Pena) and Jacob run the vinyl-only label and collective; Frankfurt's Traffic Records and team up for the Benza EP. Opening track "Frischfrisch" is a rolling, bumping and jacking minimal house groove thats reminiscent of local sounds from Hardworksoftdrink or Spain's Birdsmakingmachine, as is the title track; a real highlight actually! For something different there's some reductionist cyclicality for the after-hours on "Oh, Mein Rustipani" and some electro crossover that's the real trend for minimal at present on "Who's Snorki" which will appeal to fans of Binh or TC80.

Get Away (vinly only) (6:22)
Roll Da Beats (6:48)
Making Moves (5:57)
Review: Fuse London sub label returns with some more homegrown talent in the form of brilliant duo Damian Daley & Danny Dixon aka OdD with more futuristic minimal house. On the A side we've got the tough rolling groove of "Get Away" which is perfect to make your transition into the peak time hour. On the flip, the rolling continues with the appropriately titled "Roll Da Beats"; no guesses how this one sounds, but definitely rolls deeper and druggier than the A side. It's perfect for the after hours and those ragga samples are a nice touch. Finally "Making Moves" is a dreamy and hypnotic deep house journey with that modulating synth stab carrying the track nicely atop of some emotive chords.

Soda Island (9:25)
Sparkling Please (9:03)
Review: Peter Kremeier has been releasing micro house and textural techno under the banner of LoSoul since the late 1990's. He's been an integral member of the Playhouse stable, home to some of the most pioneering four-to-the-floor since the turn of the millennium, and he's showing no signs of stopping his invaluable contribution to the house scene. This time, however, he's up on the more contemporary Tardis label, out of Zurich and Berlin, with the glitchy, minimalistic groove "Soda Island" at the helm of the 12". The tune is one for the fans of the Perlon-Villalobos connection in a more immediate sense, but it will also surely appeal to fans of bass scientists like Shackleton. On the B-side, "Sparkling Please" is similarly murky, minimal and swamped in its own pool of shady sonics, except the groove is looser, the bass higher, and the sounds a little more party-centric.

Hidden Lanta (5:00)
Sake (6:46)
Review: London's definitive minimal house party crew Half Baked are back with Rainer (Body.Parts/Red Panda/Serialism) who is, mind the pun, taking over the reins! On the A side we have "Talking Head" which is a sublime serving of boompty, shuffling mini-funk. Next up the bleepy yet bittersweet lo-tech soul of "Villawood" will appeal to fans of recent Eklo releases. On the flip, Rainer really saves the best for last on the dark and triply after hours jam "Sake" which you can imagine a bunch of young weekend warriors losing their heads to at Club der Visionaere next Sunday.

Deep Under Sobriety Regime (5:48)
Loop (0:11)
Looking Through A Glassy Mind (7:01)
Loop (0:10)
Review: Some fresh material from Maayan Nidam is always welcome here at Juno HQ. It's approaching cliche but Nidam trades in quality not quantity, her two solo albums augmented by a smattering of singles across Perlon, Freak N Chic and Wolf N Lamb and the recent signing to Nina Kraviz's TRIP label. Of course Nidam has a strong relationship with Perlon, extending beyond her solo work to encompass the Mara Trax collaboration with Vera, and this latest record is a fine addition to both artist and label's discographies. Arriving in 10" format, Deep Under Sobriety Regime pairs the deep, trippy driving sounds of the title track with "Looking Through A Glassy Mind" which sounds like an abstracted take on Mr Oizo classic "Flat Beat." Perlon also include two locked groove loops from Nidam for the more adventurous DJs out there.

Review: After a one year hiatus, Berlin's Michael Melchner is finally back in a memorable way with a new release on Colt Music. Three original cuts that do not need any futher explanation with '? MX Jam (4:56)
Hey Hey! (5:27)
Don't Know (4:08)
Review: You should by now know this Previously Unreleased series is a nine-part affair with cuts raided from the depths of Jackson's PowerBook G3 hard-drive that were first recorded around the time of the Playgroup LP sessions. Volume 7 features a very diverse cross section of the Playgroup sound, starting out with the low slung minimal house of "Things Change" and the techy/funky retro groove of "MX Jam" we get into some real interesting stuff on the flip. "Hey Hey" is equally dancefloor oriented but with a somewhat soulful flavour that you could imagine a Detroit DJ playing while "Don't Know" is definitely more reminiscent of classic Playgroup with its nu-soul/disco/funk vibes properly intact.

Sometimes (Deep version) (7:02)
Review: Cologne's Andy Kolwes follows up the brilliant You Can EP on Frankfurt's Pressure Traxx with this great new one entitled Sometimes for his own, Berlin based Anyway imprint which is already up to its third release. Starting out with the trippy, dubbed out and somewhat Villalobos-ish title track (which is perfect for getting weird at the after hours), there's also the more uptempo druggy funk of "Future Zunrah" on the flip, which is equally worthy of your attention. Wacky grooves indeed!

Teufelsberg (7:04)
Shortwave (6:52)
Review: Jake Williams has been fairly productive since bringing his Rex The Dog project to Kompakt in early 2015. Even so, Teufelsberg marks his first single release of 2016. The title track sees him in fine form, lacing woozy, stretched-out lead lines and dreamy pads atop a thrusting, Italo-disco influenced, arpeggio groove. It also features a peach of a breakdown, which is guaranteed to get the spine tingling before the groove returns with a vengeance. Flipside "Shortwave" sees Williams combining Bobby Peru bleeps and Moroder style arpeggio synthesizers to devastating effect, a clutch of notable, repeated vocal samples rounding off a sweaty, floor-friendly concoction.
