Notes: In 2009, the G2M was launched and it rocked the guitar world. For the first time, guitarists could access MIDI sounds with the same ease as a keyboard player.

Two years later, Sonuus updated the G2M to give it a substantial boost in performance (Version 2).

The G2M is a simple-to-use, highly effective, guitar-to-MIDI converter. It is "Universal" because it doesn't need a special pick-up mounted on your guitar, but instead simply connects to your guitar like any other effects pedal or tuner.

Robust performance

Research has shown that the most important aspect for pitch-to-MIDI conversion is reliable and reproducible triggering of notes. While low-latency is important, robust triggering is the key to usability - you can easily adapt to some latency, but you cannot adapt to random, spurious notes. The G2M gives you both!

Improves playing technique

For optimal MIDI conversion, your guitar playing needs to be clean and accurate. Accidental notes, resonating open strings and other sounds can often be converted into undesired MIDI notes. Fine nuances of your playing are captured by the i2M Musicport: note velocity is determined from how hard you play; and subtle vibrato and bends are con-verted to ultra-accurate pitch-bend messages with virtually no latency. Every-thing from the emotional subtlety of a 'cello solo to the most extreme use of a guitar's whammy bar are tracked flawlessly.

The input pre-amp also has adjustable gain to accommodate a wide variety of musical instruments.
High quality 16-bit, 44.1 kHz (CD quality), and 48 kHz (DVD quality) digital audio can be recorded into your favourite audio application, or used live, for example through amp-simulators with great-sounding results.

You can custom-ise each of the operating modes for your particular requirements and ex-change these settings with other i2M Musicport users.

Four presets can be stored on the i2M Musicport so you can switch between these without requiring the Desktop Editor Software. This software is available for Microsoft Windows, and OSX (10.5 and above).

Note: the i2M Musicport doesn't include its own MIDI sounds, you must use suitable software (sampler, synthesizer, sound module etc) or your computer to record or to hear the MIDI output.
