Notes: Envelope with filter with serious attitude

This mangled, filter-sweeping, abruptly overdriving pedal is designed to respond to your playing. It syncs its wave-thumping movement with the force at which you play. It multiplies dynamics into a hyper-exaggerated frenzy. It adds just the right amount of movement to punch through the mix and it reacts to an external trigger of your choosing to follow your tempo. Six selectable frequency ranges mean you're always gonna have just the right quack and oomph for whatever's plugged in! The sounds are wild, the thump is thick, and the animation is deep.

Controls

Input: Plug an instrument in to this jack.
Trig: Plug another instrument in to this jack and use it to trigger the filter sweep.
Out: Connect this to the amplifier.
Sensitivity: Determines the point at which the filter engages and the frequency range of the filter shift in relation to the input amplitude.
Intensity: Simultaneously blends in the resonance, amount, and grit of the filter.
Vol: Adjusts the output volume of the DEEP ANIMATION.
Frequency Selector: Selects the frequency range of the filter.
Bypass: True bypass the effect.
Up / Down: Controls the polarity of the filter decay once triggered. UP sweeps the frequency from higher frequencies to lower ones and DOWN, the opposite.
Additional Features: There is a subtle light to indicate the external trigger behind the main bypass LED.

Controls

Volume: Controls the overall output level.

Fuzz: Controls the gain of the fuzz circuit. At its lowest setting the pedal just acts as a tone shifter. As the fuzz knob is turned up it sweeps from a booster to an overdrive to a thick distortion to a full on blown out war of fuzz.

Tone: A specially designed multi-curve shaping filter which changes the timbre of the pedal from super deep bass sludge to screaming highs.

Notes: The Germanium Filter is Death By Audio's love letter to sticking a pencil in your speaker.

The Filter control is extremely unconventional - it'll take you from bottomless, sub-woofered out lows to super searing and brittle highs, with a universe of tone in between. The Germanium Filter will help you find the sweet spot for your instrument in any situation - at a show, in the studio, or even stranded on the side of the highway after your tour van catches fire - hey, it happens!

The Gain knob starts with a dirty boost that then spans through saturated drive, spitting distortion, and a blistering fuzz tone. Notes: The highly coveted Octave Clang has made a triumphant return to Death By Audio's Queens workshop. Long presumed extinct, the OC was never really gone, merely in a state of hibernation-evolving, refining, and enhancing its already extraordinary sound.

In the decade since it disappeared, Death by Audio have revisited the original Clang circuit, sculpting it into something better-a more ferocious, menacing, and thunderous force that is as usable as possible for today's musicians.

Embraced by professionals and punks alike, the vintage Octave Clang was created to unleash distinctly unconventional tones that captivated the senses. In this, it succeeded, but many users found it difficult to tame. Today, Death By Audio have refined and extended the range of the original controls, added a foot-switchable octave, and did some under-the-hood supercharging.

The resulting circuit is an insane yet versatile beast, empowering you to easily sculpt discordant ringing drones, visceral octave scrapes, and ground-shaking distortion. The revitalized Octave Clang is primed and ready to destroy!

Controls

Bypass (Left Footswitch): Turns the Octave Clang on and off (red LED).
Octave (Right Footswitch): Toggles the Octave Up mode (yellow LED). The yellow LED stays on/off when the pedal is bypassed to indicate if the Octave Up is engaged.
Volume: Controls the output level. Goes from totally silent to extremely loud. When set above your normal volume, it propels your chain into overdrive
Gain: Sets the gain of the Octave Clang. This can (and will) drive the rest of the circuit into overdrive and fuzz. Can provide up to +39dB of gain.

Tone: A powerful pre-gain tilt EQ, this control adjusts the amount of highs and lows going into the rest of the circuit. This can make the octave and fuzz react very differently. Overloading the lows yields a larger, more blown-out sound while overloading the highs gives a more cutting and clear sound.

Bias (Internal): Allows misbiasing the distortion circuitry. Leave this control in the middle (5-6) for standard functionality, or turn it left or right to skew the character of the distortion to a rougher sound.
Access this control by removing the back plate of the Octave Clang.

Power: The Octave Clang is powered by a standard 2.1mm 9V DC adapter with a centre-negative polarity. Isolated power supplies are recommended. When not using a battery, the internal battery snap should be attached to the corresponding battery snap holes on the board. This will prevent the contacts from shorting out against the circuitry. Do NOT leave the battery snap floating inside the pedal when not using a battery.
