Vinyl Speed Adjust - "Dirty Pathways" (6:54)
Review: For a couple of years a decade or so ago Visionquest was a DJ collective and label that ruled the world. In the time since it has sunk back to the shadows, regrouped and come back as another vital force in the underground. This EP brings together a wealth of real talents not least the one and only synth wizard Mathew Jonson who opens up with the artful sounds of 'These Tears.' Cesar Merveille's 'Decennium' then gets wonky with tightly coiled minimal drums overlaid with pensive chords. On the flipside 'Wonder Wheel' gets a little more eerie and trippy with hunting keys leading you down a late-night maze and 'Dirty Pathways' from Vinyl Speed Adjust layering up the deft synths and airy rhythms.

Acid Storm (Oleg Makovskiy remix)
Review: Romanian duo Vinyl Speed Adjust return to LOK Black with a precision-engineered four-tracker that leans deep into the hypnotic end of the minimal techno spectrum. 'Acid Storm' opens the A-side with spiralling modulation, crisp percussion and a tightly coiled groove that unfurls gradually without ever losing grip. 'Black Mololith' follows in a darker, more restrained mode-dry textures and flickering details carved into deep, low-end space. On the B-side, Matt Thibideau's remix of 'Acid Storm' dials up the analogue warmth, softening the original's edges into something dubbier and more fluid. Oleg Makovskiy's version pushes the opposite way-tighter, colder, and more tensile, building a cavernous tension that lingers. It's a smart, focused release: minimal in structure, maximal in effect, and well suited for DJs working the long game.
