Review: The Hornin Sounds label invites you to sink deep into a reggae vibe on this superlative 7" from Vin Gordon. Though freshly mastered, the sis actually built on an old instrumental that was dug out of some archives. It was originally played by Fazal Prendergast alongside The High Times Players at the legendary Channel One studio in 1982. Scientist mixed it at King Tubby studio meaning its credentials are unquestionable. Here it is finished with some deadly and devastating trombone from 'Don D Junior.'

Review: Dub & Sound International returns for a third time and this one welcomes legendary Jamaican trombonist Vin Gordon who is rightly 'Digging The Vibes.' The title track kicks off and pairs his playful patterns with a Dubsetters rhythm and some nice sunny and soothing melodies from Trommie aka Don Drummond Jr.. After the horn-led, organic and unhurried instrumental comes a dub that is fleshed out with a little more echo and is a sublime bit of roots. A second version adds another perspective to the original and we already look forward to hearing more from this project.

Review: Another week brings another Lee 'Scratch' Perry and as usual, the quality remains unbelievably high given the prolific output of the legendary studio wizard over the decades. This one is a 1975 project at the cult Black Ark Studios with house band The Upsetters and Vin Gordon across 10 tracks of organic dubs. There are sun kissed ridders next to big, horn led grooves that sink you into a stoned reverie even without having had a smoke. The playing is loose, the mood relaxed, all while plenty of magical tricks, effects and endless reverb make each track infinitely detailed.
