Review: Following the success of deluxe reissues of Vienna, Rage In Eden, and Quartet, Ultravox celebrates the 40th anniversary of Lament with a deluxe edition box set. This self-produced 1984 album delves into darker themes of paranoia, nuclear annihilation, and the Cold War's tensions. The eight-disc box set includes 72 tracks, 45 of which are previously unreleased. CD1 features the original 1984 album remastered, while CD2 offers a new stereo mix by Steven Wilson. CD3 presents an Extended Re-Mix with contributions from Moby, Blank & Jones, Wilson, and Midge Ure. CD4 compiles single mixes, B-sides, and rarities, and CD5 contains the 1984 extended re-mixes. CDs 6 and 7 showcase Ultravox's previously unreleased Set Movements concert from Hammersmith Odeon in 1984, split into two parts. The final disc, a DVD, includes a 5.1 surround sound mix of the album and B-sides by Steven Wilson, along with 24/96 Hi-Res audio of both the new and original mixes. Here you have the ultimate package of this power packed new wave classic. Lament remains a poignant, musically rich album, resonating with contemporary listeners even four decades later.

The album, produced by Ultravox ithe preceding year, is a defining moment in their career, marked by the UK Top 10 hit 'Dancing With Tears In My Eyes' and notable singles like 'One Small Day' and the title track 'Lament.' Quartet: Ultravox (DVD)
Review: 'Quartet' is the sixth studio album by the British new wave band Ultravox, released in 1982. Infamously produced by George Martin in London and Montserrat, it made for a smash synth pop hit and decade-defining record, owing to its more polished, sophisti-pop-oriented sound compared to their previous albums made with Conny Plank12. Quartet's last reissue was in 2009 as a deluxe edition, and this brand new one essentially duplicates that version, once more sharing a slew of bonus tracks and a live DVD for the world at large.
