Review: Can't Stand the Rezillos is the debut studio album by Edinburgh-based punk band the Rezillos, released on Sire Records on 21 July 1978. A centrepiece of Scottish punk at the time, the LP still holds massive weight going into the present day, owing to its extraterrestrial themes and huge production, not least also due to the fact that the band split up only four months after the album's release - in the true spirit of the time. Via its 13 short bursts of new wavey punk on the fun-loving side, an aura of criticism of the pop-cultural landscape they came up in abounds, despite the easy head-bobbery of its bass-driven parts and delectably digestible lyrics.
