  7. Alex Picone - "Sunday" (6:30)
Review: Since 2014, Spain's Park & Ride label have been offering a truly outstanding selection of collaborative releases from the finest talents of the deeper side of contemporary tech-house. This time, they return with the Paris compilation, driven by the sounds of some of Europe's finest. Among our favourites on here, we have the opener, Saverio Celestri's majestic "Interstellar", a hybrid trip between house and industrial electro that sounds as if it were cut straight from the machines through which it was conceived; "Rob In The Hood" by Seuil is another sublime slice of grainy, stripped-back dance music with a clear ode to the coldwave scene, and Alex Picone's "Sunday" provides a charming, graceful analogue house cut with a broken rhythm and some glorious background sonic manipulation. Yes.

Electro
  1. Virtual Cascades (6:00)
  2. Enchant (5:51)
  3. Positronic (6:01)
  4. Singularity (5:03)
Review: Hot on the heels of his deliciously wild, psychedelic Play album on SEQUALOG - a fine collection of acid-fired breakbeat, electro and off-kilter electronica - TC80 pops up on Blank State with a quartet of club-ready cuts. He begins with the punchy, all-action warmth of "Virtual Cascades" - all shimmering synthesizer melodies and rubbery synth bass - before peppering a bustling 4-4 rhythm track with ghostly chords and sci-fi electronics. "Positronic" channels the spirit of Kraftwerk and drags the robots kicking and screaming into the 21st century, while "Singularity" doffs a cap to Detroit techno whilst harnessing the spacey warmth of classic British tech-house.

Techno
  1. TC80 - "Exile" (5:44)
  2. Abstract Tune - "1996 Shoots" (5:37)
  3. Audri - "Acid Rain" (5:11)
  4. Omar - "Techno Victims" (5:29)
  5. Z@p - "Different Ways" (7:12)
Review: Since launching last year, the Opia label has yet to put a foot wrong, serving up two must-have 12" singles full of quality cuts from rising stars and scene stalwarts. The label's latest compilation style offering is equally as good. TC80 has the honour of kicking things off via the bubbly acid lines, stomping beats and gentle synth melodies of "Exile", before Abstract Tune joyously joins the dots between bleep techno and dreamy deep house on the rich positivity of "1996 Shoots". Audri's "Acid Rain" is a raw and intense jack-track, while Omar's "Techno Victims" a bustling, minor key electro box jam. Rounding things off is Z@p, whose excellent "Different Ways" sits somewhere between early Motor City Techno and 1990s British tech-house.
