Olivian Nour - "Collateral Damage"
Dorothy's Dream - "Ten Colours"
Swoy - "Tosmur"
Vern - "Breath"
Review: Following close behind Macarie's Out Of Streets EP, Verum returns with a further expansion of its sound as a new label in the minimal tech house scene. Olivian Nour sets the mood in compelling style with the subtle jazz guitar licks hovering over brooding twilight cut 'Collateral Damage', while Dorothy's Dream explores skittering, modulated forms on psychedelic workout 'Ten Colours'. Swoy leads on the B-side with the snaking, subliminal mastery of 'Tosmur' and Vern completes the picture with the slinky groove of 'Breath', making this another classy turn for Verum and the assembled artists alike.

Sepp - "Cabot Cave" (6:11)
Vlad Arapasu - "Compostella" (7:23)
Swoy - "After" (7:56)
Ted Amber - "Erutun" (8:16)
Review: Yecad Music launch their mission into the minimal world with a strong first showing from a varied cast of operators that mark this label out as one to watch. Sepp leads the way with the jazz-inflected, intricate patterns of 'Cabot Cave', while Vlad Arapaho has a knottier, techy offering by way of 'Compostella'. Swoy has a more melodic, organic-sounding approach on 'After' and Ted Amber taps into that hypnotic Arpiar style for the deep-diving 'Erutun', rounding off a sophisticated EP for those who like their grooves stripped back and undulating.

Haker (7:59)
Absurd (8:01)
Whispering (7:46)
Hang (8:14)
Review: Swoy had a solid run last year with releases on Olo (alongside Miroloja), Into The Woods and Lilas, and now he's arriving on New Zealand's Sounds Of Sirius with some advanced minimal techno loaded with crafty sound design and watertight grooves. 'Haker' is a tense, dramatic tune driven by nervy piano arps, with plenty of ear-snagging detail shifting around in the background. 'Absurd' is a sleek, playful joint with some interesting vocal flurries throughout, while 'Whispering' takes things deep and icy without losing that twitchy production style. 'Hang' completes the record with a swung rhythm that calls to mind garage stripped down for parts - a fine vessel for Swoy to build his intricate production around.

Swoy - "Life Is Love" (7:04)
Martin M - "Think Of Ways" (7:11)
Ckb - "Accents" (7:43)
James Reid - "Absence" (6:55)
Review: Hungary's Juuz label clocks up a third outing here with another tasteful various artists affair. Swoy gets things going with 'Life Is Love,' a fat slice of cosmic tech funk with sci-fi effects. Martin M's 'Think Of Ways' is another disco-tech exploration with clean and crisp sound design and punchy drums, then Ckb brings some low-slung and dubbed-out business on the Villalobos-esque 'Accents.' James Reid is last up with his slightly more thoughtful and sparse 'Absence', the gloopy bass and freaky designs finished with some introverted pad work.
