Review: Stockholm based label Vastkransen was born out of an annual open air, summer time party, and it shows in the uplifting, open-hearted strains of hi-tech soul they impart on their label. This fourth outing on wax pairs up Salary Boy and Ari Bald, who each deliver an original track and remix each other. Salary Boy's "Newland Court" is a smooth and luxurious affair, which Ari Bald twists up into a sprightly electro funk version. Ari Bald's own "Daytrippin'" has an uptempo house slant with sky-scraping synth lines to get hands raised aloft. Salary Boy then gets busy with a version that locks it into a deeper funk that still packs a mean punch.
