  3. Flint (OVR remix) (7:29)
  4. Komatiite (Broken English Club remix) (4:53)
Review: Blueprint bosse James Ruskin has gathered together an impressive cast-list of producers to rework tracks from Rommek's recent trilogy of EPs, Set In Stone. Ruskin is naturally one of these, and his creepy, atmospheric revision of "Grintstone" - all mangled metallic noise, slowly throbbing orchestration, distorted drums and booming bass - is undoubtedly one the EP's highlights. Also impressive is OVR's moody, hybrid electro/broken techno take on "Flint", while Blueprint veteran Oliver Ho steals the show (as Broken English Club) with a clanking and spacey version of "Komatiite" that fixes poignant, melancholic chords and barely audible spoken word vocals to a heavy slo-mo beat. Meanwhile, if thrusting industrial techno is your thing, check out the pots-and-pans percussion and intense bass of Makaton's version of "Obsidian".

Arcane (12")
Cat: BP 50. Rel: 24 May 17
  1. Arcane (feat Aimee Mullen) (6:16)
  2. Forbidden Planet (6:05)
  3. Archetype (6:40)
  4. Doldrums (feat Aimee Mullen) (6:52)
Review: Emerging London artist Rommek has been steadily honing in on his own sound, as well as carving his way into the current techno scene. His extensive interest in sound design is embedded within the atmospheric, dynamic and textured tracks he produces. His debut on the London based label Weekend Circuit established his position on the scene. Since then, various releases have showcased his appeal 'through the combination of the energetic, gritty UK sound coalesced with deep and transcendental aspects.' Fall deep into the vortex on the powerful and tunneling "Arcane" (featuring classical violinist Aimee Mullen) the brooding and broken darkwave techno of "Forbidden" calls to mind British Murder Boys or Ancient Methods while "Archetype" goes for something more heady and hypnotic.
