  8. Fede Lng - "La Volpe" (4:58)
Review: According to La Chinerie themselves. after repping their dear home of France on the first volume, they are 'this time enlightening Italy's house scene through an eclectic V/A gathering eight tracks from eight talented macaronis.' Southern Italy represents in the form of Salerno's Giovanni Damico with the funky and dusty soul heaven of "No Al Maltrattamento Dei Samples" while Lecce's finest Marcello Napoletano delivers the goods as always on the gritty house shenanigans of "Insignami". Elsewhere, there's Restoration's Lucretio (via Berlin of course) delivering some muscular, hardware oriented grooves on "I Piu Piccoli" while the north of The Beautiful Country represents too, rest assured, in the from of Bologna's Bassa Clan with the bouncy and swinging NYC circa '94 vibe of "Notte Brava".

  1. Matthieu Faubourg - "A Long Way"
  2. Drezb - "Chemical Distortion"
  3. Pascal Viscardi - "Digital Illusion"
  4. Midori - "Distance" (feat Victor Santoni)
Review: Jazzy Couscous strikes back with their "La chance aux chansons" EP, showcasing various upcoming talents from the French and Swiss club scene. The opening track, "A long way", is delivered by Matthieu Faubourg, an incredibly gifted young French producer who exploded last year thanks to his mesmerizing "Please, Stay...". It explores darker shades while keeping Faubourg's deep imprint. Next comes Normandy's best kept secret DrezB's first effort with "Chemical distortion". A swinging deep house killer track with some acid accents, definitely floor oriented. The B side is opened by Switzerland most promising club scene talent, Pascal Viscardi. His "Digital illusion" track is a cold and merciless dub house monster. This one will definitely cause a few casualties. Finally, this EP is closed by Midori featuring Victor Santoni with an incredible atmospheric jewel. Literally coming from outer space, their "Distance" track will get you high, VERY high.

  1. Where Pathways Meet
  2. Oshakusan
  3. Free at Dawn (The Ecstasy of Roland Mixx)
  4. And I Showed the Clouds (How to Cover Up a Clear Blue Sky)
Review: The first place the world heard the lead track from this new Love Notes from Brooklyn release, "Where Pathways Meet", was on Deep House legend Mike Huckaby's My Life with the Wave show volume 2. Pascal Viscardi was one of many great artists to take Huckaby's warm tones and turn them into a work of art. "Pathways..." wriggles with deep funk and soul, and is paired with 3 other likeminded tracks for this very well-rounded EP. "Oshakusan" is the dancefloor track, juxtaposing warm chords and an insistent sax sample over the a tough bassline and rhythm combination that's aimed staight at the floor. "Free at Dawn" is the fathoms deep effort, going miles below the surface in a emotional expression of soul, and "And I Showed the Clouds (How to Cover Up a Clear Blue Sky)" provides a perfect outtro, and end to the statement made, making this EP feel truly complete.
