Review: 15 years have passed since Eva Van Deuren first came up with Orphan Fairytale, a beguiling sonic moniker responsible for a body of work apparently inspired by a world where medieval fantasy folk has collided with psychedelic electronica, creating sounds that can be welcoming and wholesome or eerie, with equally potent effects. On her first for the KRAAK imprint this strange brew is particularly intoxicating.

Centring on a Celtic harp, and then wrapping layers of wonderful noises and notes around those structural chords, it's not hard to lose yourself in the exquisitely detailed and perfectly proportioned arrangements from beginning to end as her unique musical narratives are woven. Delicate melodies floating on an air of tranquility but also a sense of the unknown, resulting in a wonderfully serene and vivid adventure.
