Nuances De Nuit Vol 6

Minimal/Tech House
James Andrew - "Reality Call" (7:16)
Nathan Pinder - "Stutter" (6:56)
The Trip - "Big Trouble" (5:50)
Tip Top - "Control Alt Defeat" (6:39)
Review: Like its five predecessors, the sixth volume in the ongoing Nuances de Nuit series gathers together club-focused cuts from a quartet of producers, all of which could be considered rising stars of the underground tech-house scene. Sometime Subsequent contributor James Andrew kicks off proceedings with 'Reality Call', a bumping, elasticated bounce through spacey and swinging tech-house territory, before Nathan Pinder peppers a driving groove with deep space sounds and mid '90s US garage chords on 'Stutter'. Over on the reverse, The Trip offers up a tough, driving and melodic workout ('Big Trouble'), while Tip Top steals the show via the bleeping dub house hypnotism of 'Control Alt Defeat', where swelling pads, deep sub-bass and delay-laden electronics catch the ear.

Back Again
Review: Nathan Pinder is at the helm for the long-awaited second release on the Arcadia Sounds label. It marks a mighty fine debut for him across five cuts pressed on nice180 gram vinyl. he shows off his range with a spectrum of sound that indeed makes a fine Brain Dance Experiment. Things kick off with 'Sonic X', a mid-tempo and woozy exploration of spaced-out pads and percolating new age rhythms before the energy levels pick up with punchy electronic house wonk-out 'Freaky Machines.' 'Open Sky' is another sleek and slick electronic adventure with a hint of retro 90s magic and astral synth work then 'Jammer' pumps another balmy cosmic house groove and 'Back Again' brings some turbo funk.

Haws Party Vol 3
Cat: HAWS 011. Rel: 24 May 21

Deep House
Rudolf C - "Shotta" (5:35)
Lisene - "Time 2 Bump" (7:16)
DJ Life - "Organo" (5:56)
Nathan Pinder - "Good Times Ahead" (7:13)
Review: The Ha?s crew ensure that you will be partying whether you're in a club or not with the floor ready bombs on this third volume of their Ha?s Party series. This one opens up with Rudolf C's 'Shotta', a tight, bubbling future house track with funk in the drums and weight in the bass. Time 2 Bump' by Lisene ups the ante with more punchy kick and snappy snares that are run through with acidic and sci-fi pads. DJ Life's 'Organo' is a real melon twisting tech cut and Nathan Pinder closes with a leggy and elastic house bumper.
