Review: In tribute to Record Store Day, the Diggin Disco Deep crew has put together what could be its tastiest 12" yet. Pressed on squeaky clean white vinyl, volume five in the series boasts cuts from some of the edit scene's best-loved talents. Lipski kicks things off with the blissfully wavy loops and languid Balearic house grooves of "Magical Luv", before the Silver Rider hits the mark via the softly spun nu-disco goodness of "Madness". On the flip you'll find EP highlight "When She Moves, I'm Moved" by Folamour, a sax-laden shuffle through deep house/disco fusion that sneakily pays tribute to a wedding party favourite, and the head-in-the-clouds deep house bump of Gari Romalis and Lello di Franco's "Luv Game".

Review: Patapenka is a new disco-leaning alias from Minsk-based Uladzimir Patapenka, who has previously worked as LIPSKI. With 15 years music making experience under his belt including work as an Ableton Live instructor, he sure does know his way around a tune. He worked on these pieces over several months with vocalists, trumpeters and a cellist and as such they are layered tracks that work both in the club or at home. 'Children' is a warm and sunny one that transports you to a balmy Mediterranean coast line. 'First Dance With You' brings more jazzy vibes with Afro vocals and beautifully lush grooves while Latin feels dominate the slower sounds of 'La Playa'. 'What About This' is a blissed out and stirring instrumental with swooning strings and 'Canvas, Oil' shuts down with Rhodes laced funk. A sublime EP.

Review: Moscow's Minor Notes Recordings is fast gaining a reputation as one of Russia's finest exports of quality deep house grooves, unearthing some of the country's best artists. They offer another various artists EP for deeper moments for the club, or your listening pleasure, by four of the country's most promising artists. Alexander Chebankov aka Sunner Soul is in a lo-slung and sunkissed mood on the irresistible nu-disco jam "Shadows In The Garden", newcomer Lipski provides the EP's highlight on the ultra-deep and emotive late night groove "Beetham Tower" and Guydee revisits the vibe of classic early '90s deep house (think Jazzanova or Swag) on "Time Is Gone".
