Review: Ed Keeley seems to have dropped the "DJ" bit from his Friction moniker, but he remains one of the most in-demand selectors on the drum and bass scene. Having released his first mix CD way back in 2000, he's something of a veteran. That makes it doubly surprising that this is his first contribution to the FabricLive series. Predictably, it's a bit of a whirlwind 70-minutes, with Friction constantly entertaining by restlessly chopping between snare-heavy rollers (Nymfo, Insideinfo & Mefjus), twinkling carnival jams (Technimatic's sparkling old skool tribute to the West Country, "Bristol"), deeper flavours (Alix Perez, the wide-eyed rush of AI's "You Can Dream"), jaunty liquid funk (Chords, a tasty Calibre remix of two) and techier beats (Icicle, Ulterior Motive & Judda).
